When I bought mine, there was a commemorative coin glued to the top to stop that. I assume you have the full console. I took it apart and applied mild pressure to make it bind a bit and it now stays in place just fine.

The convertible top switch knob can be switched out for the broken knob on the defroster switch. The video gives a step by step.

I'm out of luck on the VA YOM tags. In 1973 they converted to stickers and those do not qualify as YOM - just way out of date dead tags. The tags had to be stamped with the date to qualify for YOM use.

The front license plate holder on my '73 is attached with two bolts under the bumper. Unscrew and remove the entire assembly.

So the Mustang would start right up, high idle for a minute, then die - not to be restarted until completely cold again. I figured choke but after a lot of messing around, no luck. I was able to keep it running with constant attention to the throttle and when warm, it calmed down and idled. So...

Check with the Aussie vehicle registration people as well. In Virginia, for about $5 I can get something called a trip pass so that the vehicle is legally registered to cross state lines. If memory serves, it was good for about 3 days. Plates from Australia might also be needed for the travel...

First care was a '65 Catalina - not really muscle but 400 cubes was fun. I shortly after that bought my 71 Sportsroof while still in high school. Sorry I let that one get away.

Mine had chrome.

For what it is worth, my 71 sportsroof (Non-mach) had the individual letters.

I went with the spare from a Crown Vic. Cheap at the junkyard but still a tight fit with the fold down seat.
