Does this car have 89K or 189K miles ?

Thanks Hemikiller, To my eye, The engine bay looks completely untouched, except for the coil not being bolted on. The condition of the engine with all the vacuum and AC lines intact is one of the reasons I bought this car.

    Fuel filler pipe gasket replacement

Cool. I'll check the lights against the panel, and if the bolt holes line up, I will use this one. I think it's from CJ Pony parts. I had heard more recent tail panel versions are better, but this is probably fine.

Does this car have 89K or 189K miles ?

Thanks for the info on your seat /mileage. I had read a few posts where the condition of the brake rubber was a good indicator, but this rubber is gone.

This tail panel came with the car. Looks solid, but I'm not sure of the quality

Does this car have 89K or 189K miles ?

I do know the Motorcraft Carburetor was rebuilt. Based on the front seat wear, that looks like 89K of butt time, not 189K, but I'm leaning toward 189K. The FMX is leaking slightly at the rear yoke seal, and the rear end is seeping diff fluid.

    Fuel filler pipe gasket replacement

Previous owner pitched the tank, and I don't think he pulled off the vapour cap. I'm starting from scratch, so I will check with Mike / motorcity and see if he has some of what I need. Defintely going with the zinc coated tank

Thanks. Agree it doesn't matter, other than knowing it had <100k original miles

Does this car have 89K or 189K miles ?

I just bought a 1972 Mach1 in good condition. The engine bay is almost completely unmodified in 53 years. The dash board, radio, and AC control look mint. The steering wheel and dash pad are sun damaged pretty bad. The brake pedal rubber is gone. The parking brake pedal and accelerator pedal...

    Partial cowl repair possible?

I just bought a 72 mach1 survivor, and even the though cowl looks pretty decent (I can still see factory paint in it and only some minor rust), I have a very small water leak coming down the heater box on the passenger side. Is it more likely than not that I have pin hole rust spot inside the...

Any luck with TRQ fuel tank from Amazon ?

Thanks, I will go for the galvanized tank. Stanglover mentioned Rockauto in another post. I have the filler and straps, so I need to assemble all the other missing parts, gaskets, sending unit, vapour unit, etc and buy them seperately.

    Fuel filler pipe gasket replacement

Reading up on this now. I have the original filler neck and tank straps. I need the tank, and all the other parts including the vapour system, sending unit, gaskets, and inlet rubber. Not sure what direction I will go, the NPD kit is over $500 and doesn't supply the vapour return valve
