    Circuit 19 - Dash Lights

Don, I'm having same issue. Headlights are working, and headlight is turned all the way to the right. I'm getting No lights to the Cluster (except turn signals and the red mustang light) I am definitely not getting 12v to either side of Fuse 3 at the panel. I am getting 12v to both sides...

Need the Ignition Actuator replacement Procedure (steering column)

I got everything back together, and cleaning up the actuator and re-lubing worked to fix my start position spring back. This repair is not for a novice mechanic. The Ford shop manual is ok, but not perfect. This was for 1972 Fastback with non-tilt steering wheel and automatic transmission. I...

    steering wheel question

Is your car a straight or tilt wheel ? Are you using original actuator part D0AW or more recent D4AW ?

Need the Ignition Actuator replacement Procedure (steering column)

Hello Don, yes the gear is brass. The grease that was in the actuator teeth was hard like gum before I cleaned it, and also gummy in the slot where the actuator moves forward and backward. I am going to reinstall using lithium grease today and see if that was it.

Need the Ignition Actuator replacement Procedure (steering column)

Got the actuator out. I find nothing wrong with the teeth on my actuator. Other than 50 year old grease jamming up the motion of the actuator in the slot, I see no reason why my key cylinder won't return from the start position.

    steering wheel question

I'm diving in as soon as the actuator gets here. I'm assuming the original gear can be re-used. I haven't pulled that gear out yet. Removing the ring clip out of the cylinder hole, seems like it will be fun

Need the Ignition Actuator replacement Procedure (steering column)

Thanks Fabrice, this is after you set the gear back into the cylinder and it's correctly lined up to the last tooth of the actuator that you do these adjustments, correct ?

Very Cool. I was looking at the wrong manual ( electrical ), it's in the chassis manual.

Need the Ignition Actuator replacement Procedure (steering column)

Can someone post the replacement steps for replacing the actuator in the steering column Or tell me what the page is in the Ford workshop manual please ? My key will not spring back from START and I'm told the start gear tooth on the actuator is probably gone. 1972 Mustang w/ Standard column...

    SWAPMEET! Got lucky....maybe.

Nice find on the D1AE. Why do these heads tend to crack other than someone overheating the engine ?

Fender mounting bracket for lower right front fender to the body

Chuck, thanks for the response. No one else chimed in. I cut the bolt/clip out with a dremel cutting wheel. Hammered bent everything back into plate. Fabricated an L bracket with thin metal (didn't take a pic of it) Using 7014 rod (3/32) I stick welded the new bracket in and merged it to what...

Interesting proposition. Does your hood trim, and the chrome passenger extension have the studs intact for mounting ? I have a brand new black hood trim
