Looking for feedback on my new wheels

Great post for us newbies. 5.25 to 5.5 inch backspace seems like the magic number to shoot for, and this hopefully helps someone else out before they buy the 4inchers like I did.

@Cleveland Crush Where did you get that upward facing spoiler on that grabber blue 71 ? I would rather have that spoiler look then the standard spoiler

Really cool that you took , developed , and saved these photos. My cousin had a 69 Firebird with massive tires on the back and flared out the rear quarters to cover. This was around 1994. He didn't snap any photos and I wish he had.

Looking for feedback on my new wheels

Thanks for the feedback GIANTPUNE. My dilemma is that I can't find the TRICK rims rated for street that have the 5.5in backspace. Also, I doubt JEGS would return these rims now without hassle since they're already mounted. total for both rims was $332, so not a huge loss if I decide to sell them...

Thanks Cleveland! I have the front fender and door off right now, but I will get some better pics soon. The Tire sticks out just under 2 inches from the Rear Quarter Flare

How bad is the 71 early 72 brake booster?

How can you test if the Power booster is working while everything is on the car ? H Here is my situation The car was not stopping when I bought it. The hydraulics are tight, no leaks at the calipers/rear cylinders, or the master cylinder. I changed the brake pads in front, and it started...

Fender mounting bracket for lower right front fender to the body

I find myself in the same situation. The Fender bolt is rusted into the mounting tab (driver's side fender mounting tab nearest to the wheel well) What is the move here ? Fabricate a new tab/hole and weld it on, or is there a replacement L bracket w/ Tab that can easily welded up , and cut this...

New Radiator Install - proper block flush

I would hesitate to run hose water from most public water sources through an engine block.

New Radiator Install - proper block flush

Good points. If this particular car was cared for and serviced , maybe not too bad.

New Radiator Install - proper block flush

Other than old coolant, why would there be gunk in the water passages ? I would put in the new radiator. Remove the thermostat. Fill system with fresh coolant. Run the car for an hour. Drain the coolant, and refill it with more fresh coolant. Put the thermostat back in.
