But that really is the problem to me. I tend to see the persona they play on tv as reflecting how they really do business. If that was my business I would not allow it to be portrayed negatively or differently than it really is. As evidenced by the quality builders you see on tv. You can see the...

I like watching the show but they are bunch of hacks on par with the dirty people who flip houses but only half *** the job. I keep hearing people talk about driving up the price of our cars up is good. All I see is the cost of parts skyrocket and more good cars parted out because of hacks like...

Maybe he shoulda put the Boss on Ebay maybe even a gajillion dollars. Might of made some real money compared to the half-assed "resto-mod"..........

    gasmonkeygarage car 72 FB

One plausible idea that the price went up some(not that stupid over bid amount) is the original family wants the car back. People are willing to pay alot for sentimental when they see a car they know and love up and running drivable again. Seen a number of times over the years. In no way...

Just not feeling the 17" Billet Magnums. Thought I would like em to. After seeing them on a car they just aren't all that. Definitely solidifies my purchasing a 17" set of the Ansen Sprints.

    exhaust system for 302 4speed

I used Tri-Y headers(El-Cheapo Stainless from Ebay) on mine and I had to grind a chunk out of the bellhousing for them to seat properly. I have the large bell housing on my 302. I got a 2" universal H-Pipe from CJ Pony for 64-73 Mustangs and ran custom exhaust from that point. Works great for...

Anyone ever used a chassis dyno to tune their car???

Wish I could be stationed at a post with a chassis dyno at the Auto Craft Shop. Hell I wish I could be stationed at a post with a reasonable auto craft shop. After leaving Fort Hood in 2003 I haven't see a reasonable one since.

Anyone ever used a chassis dyno to tune their car???

Accidents happen bottom line. Just because videos can be found of accidents doesn't make something a bad idea. Using a well respected safe smart business is always a better idea than a fly by night operation. A chassis dyno is a good way to dial in a motor without the sometimes illegal methods...

    Feeling Frustrated

Its a labor of love and not a money maker. All the crap you see on TV is just that. I agree the original makers of some of the most loved cars Ford, GM, Chevy were not building classics. They built cars that weren't expected to be around 40 years later. They became classic years later. In our...

1971 Mustang 4 speed shifter boot

Hope you find one I have one from a 1970 on mine right now. I got a factory OEM Boot brand new 7 years ago and it cost me $250. Haven't found another new one since. I refuse to install it because they are so prone to ripping out.

    LED dash lights...opinions?

I got the factory color elite LED kit from the link below and it is a huge difference. Totally worth the extra when considering how often the bulbs go out IMO. I just also recieved a new printed circuit for the back of my gauge cluster because my original was in rough shape. Plan to replace it...

    Rim Preference...

I voted for the slots but not the stock 73 style. I really liked the 17x8 Ansen Sprints I saw years ago. Kickin myself for not buying a set when they were still available. Now they are impossible to even find a set. Well wouldn't ya know I say I am looking for a set and they are available on ebay.

    Volt gauge

Just bringing this back up for great service from the TheRktmn. Sent my gauge off last Saturday and got it back on Friday. Nicely packaged up and ready to install. Gonna try to get it installed this weekend.

    Exhaust weld vs flange

Ya I vote for bolt together also. To many times I have had to remove parts of the exhaust to work on a vehicle. Weld together almost ensures your gonna have to cut it up at some point in the future. Whether to replace parts of the exhaust as it wears out or you have to repair something and the...

    Step drill bits = $$$$

Good ones that won't **** the bed quick cost a good penny. Make sure to use them with a good cuttin oil so you don't damage them. I destroyed a good one drilling out the rivets on my truck a few years ago that way. Not a happy day right there.

The most egregious "errors" you've seen on a 71-73?

I must agree with the choices as opposed to errors. Now I totally agree in the case of a clueless owner who hasn't done proper research to ensure there "Concourse Resto" is correct. Its a Mustang god damn it. A vehicle that Ford knows is going to be modified by the owner no matter how garish...

    Best replacement fuel tank??

Mesozoic really hit the nail on the head on think. Nice setup by the way. I like the reverse sump design it looks good and over comes the front sump fuel wash annoyance. The only fuel starvation issues I have seen with external pumps are when the tank didn't have a proper sump like his. Most of...
