It didn't take too much of a skim coat to cover it either. It helps to jump around with the tack welds and transfer the heat. This was in a close area so I also used a damp rag to keep it cool.
These are the shapes I have to create w/ a paper template. I was able to get a wire wheel in there and clean out the inside pretty good. I also gave it a cpl/blasts of media. Then I treated it to some Rustmort (phosphoric acid) then primed.
I've used both rubber and cork & have had no problems. Clean your surfaces well, torque evenly, move around mentally noting sticking " stubborn" bolts that throw off your torque. Remember to start from the middle outward. I think the torque is in inch lbs .. like only 4-5 ft/lbs. I don't use any...
Remove your fenders completely. install new bushings and pins in the doors and install them 1st, setting the gaps exact, add the fenders last. (I showed a lot of this in Media on this site). If you are using after mkt fenders the dies and tooling usually has flaws since they use what dies they...
There's most likely significant body work covered up with bondo & little use of hammer n dolly. lay 3 pcs of paper next to one another, they all lay nice and flat. Now crinkle them up a little and lay them next to one another and you get undesirable gaps. I'd like to have seen it in bare metal...
I believe I have both still on Ebay. I'm pretty sure I still have the front on there. Good usable, needs cleaned up from the old sealant other than that good usable cond. I also have extra lower rear pcs @ here. Maybe they are on Ebay already. I keep about 20 items on there at a time.
Yep, I reused my blower motor. They have sealed bearings & the grease hardens and separates from the surfaces. I used a few drops of light oil to break it up and get it to coat again. I have no problems with mine either. I also try to avoid the Chinese disposables. Taking these out isn't bad if...
Front windshield you don't save much by installing it yourself. My problem was receiving the glass damaged multiple x's. The clips need to be installed 1st. It's far too easy to accidentally strike the window, which leads to cracks that can creep all the way across it. On the front windshield...
Wow they are proud of those fancy lad covers. I live in Oklahoma and the wind tears all of the covers I've ever used up in 1 to 2 years. The last cover I purchased was over 100 and was supposedly waterproof. Ye, it allowed the water to dampen the car and kept it nice and wet for days. It was...
