The front muffler mount was a regular rubber strap type. For the rear muffler mount, I used the stock muffler clamp backwards by welding 2 nuts on the floor pan and bolting to them.

I started with Hooker long tube headers. Just over 300 / worth it for that price, nice fit. Install these with the long bolts pulled from the motor mounts and engine raised 1" Without a lift, put your front wheels on 4 x 4 blocks + raise 1".

So far this was a simple process. I didn't use any of my mandrel pcs laying around either. Yet. I intended on piecing together 2 pcs that go over the axles and haven't got @ to it a year later. If you tuck the mufflers in those pockets, there's all kinds of ground clearance on these even w 2 1/2".

    Good welding helmet

Ye, just because mine works fine doesn't mean you didn't get a lemon. I forgot about the opposite effect. If it's staying dark, it may be oversensitive to your surrounding lights. Perhaps you have a light nearby that is self-darkening before you add spark to it. Bringing it to the welding store...

    Good welding helmet

I have one of those HF helmets and it works fine. I personally don't use the helmets anymore, unless I'm welding underneath something. I buy one of those small self-darkening lenses and install them in the welder's safety goggles. You need enough surrounding light to see the project to start...

    Some help with windshield install

I've never tried a convertible, however, didn't like the position of the bottom of the windshield. They sit on perches/brackets. I ended up using 2 small rubber blocks at the last minute to sit glass on at the bottom, in order to raise it upward.

    New member from Tulsa Oklahoma

When this came up it said new from Tulsa, only it was a reference to old post. These guys are great with information on this site. Probably the best of any of these online search threads. Good luck with your projects and be leery of driving amongst the texting inattentive phone zealots.

    It's baaaaccckkkkk!

A shoddy restoration like that is a waste of paint. None of the panels line up. They didn't even attempt to flatten out the hood. No effort to hammer -n- dolly just pack the bondo.

I believe they are calling these oil deflectors, not baffles.

    Replace Mallory distributor?

If you already have a good functioning Mallory I'd stay with it. There isn't a better built or more reliable distributor. It's built like a tank and uses an optical sensor. They are harder to kill than the Petronix modules. I burned up 2 petromix modules (100a/pc) in my last car before I paid...

    Grabber Blues?

I've used spray cans for a lot of things. People forget their rattle can basics like keeping it shaken and mixed. There's still a spray pattern and a flash time.

    Grabber Blues?

I believe I have a 71 paint code. I have no clue if the later grabber blue they were comparing it to were even Mustangs and how late the models were. I don't recall a 73 mentioned though. This is according to a stranger working at a paint store, who knows what the next one will look up. I've...

    Spring compressor

These cars look like they make great convertibles. I ended up only 1" lower than stock. (supposedly 3/4") I know it's best to lower your center of gravity. We have terrible roads in Tulsa. Also, there was a slight rub going down a driveway taking a hard turn. I have slots which lose 1/2" of...
