    Hissing battery……

Thanks Chuck, and yes it is hissing from the caps. My first thought was what you said, take it back, avoid the corrosion issue and change to an Optima and be done with the corrosion threat. As I researched this some more and had my son measure the voltage on the battery while the engine was...

    Hissing battery……

So I just got home from a short drive in my B1. After I parked it I lifted the hood to disconnect the battery and immediately noticed the battery was hissing? It’s a new battery and I’m not sure what would cause this? The regulator and alternator are both under two years old. I had no unusual...

    Boss 351 carburetor

Thanks, I have a ‘72 carb from a 4 speed CJ and even though I’m using a Holley on my car I wanted the original manifold to have a dedicated carb, of correct vintage. I can’t see spending $7k on a carb and was curious to identify the diffs. Thanks for the input

    Boss 351 carburetor

Other than the obvious Motorcraft/Autolite difference, how is a ‘72 CJ 4300 carb different than the ‘71 4300D?

    Wideband afr value

Great explanation, the more i tinker the deeper that rabbit hole gets…….. thanks! Seems some of the simple things make the biggest difference. For example I had an initial stumble on aggressive acceleration…. After adjusting and changing most other items on the carb I swapped to a different...

    Wideband afr value

Great read, especially as I consider a wide band gauge. Question, what’s a PVCR? I’ve been monkeying around with my Holley 750 and haven’t discovered this yet.

1/4 miles times and horsepower - seeking expert opinions

also consider the dyno and its variability. I’ve seen significant differences in results that boiled down to calibration errors by the dyno operator regarding critical inputs of temperature, atmospheric pressure and altitude. Based on your times and speeds I’d say the car in its current...

Thnx, more of a fluke that I still had them, and certainly a pleasant surprise! Btw, there’s a Mustang show tomorrow at Apple Valley (Minnesota) Ford, it has a swap there also, 0900-1400. Then on Tuesday evening 1700 till?, the weekly drive in gathering in Henderson (Mn) will have a Mustang...

Looking for feedback on my new wheels

Since we’re strolling down memory lane this morning…… circa 1977. Common combos for the times, and what would a Boss be without a Sears car top carrier? The drip rails still show its use…….. UGH!!

Front disk brake caliper and rotor replacement search

Ahhh yes, it helps to know the counter help at your local parts store…. Had the guy actually check his stock and search other local stores for mine. They turned up right away. Also know a guy that went and bought all he could find and of course now has them marked up on an internet sight. I can...

Good price for a 351 block and 4v heads?

I saw that block for sale last month, and passed because the price was too high. After talking to the guy it seemed as if he sat down with a summit racing catalogue and visually put together the components to make a racing motor. It would be easier and cheaper (for mamy reasons) to shop for the...
