    73 motor mounts (hard to find and good price)

    Bill Im not sure what U are asking but... There are 3 different engine mount "perches" (the steel bracket that the mount bolts to on the frame) 71-72 Vert 73 So...You have a 73 with the original perches using 67-72 mounts? ...no good. You need 71-2 NON VERT perches to use your 67-72 STD...

    Yea I'm using an aftermarket vacuum canister that is the size and shape of a softball for the heat/ac with a check valve so it works with engine off. The power brake booster gets it's vacuum from the manifold/or/ carb fitting and the check valve is integrated into the fitting on the booster...

    yes it has a spring in it. When the heater control is moved to cold the vacuum switch stops engine coolant from entering the heater core via the action of heater control valve. Paul

    Yea maybe springs are the way to go. My 73 has the original springs and it was level until I 86ed the original front bumper and brackets that combined weighed about 150 lbs and raised the front end almost 2 in. I was amazed how heavy that old bumper and brackets were. I installed a 72 chrome...

    Good luck Labor should be a few hundred plus parts. A rebuild kit with bearings, cyncros and small parts will be a couple hundred more. At least in the end you will have a fresh box! Keep us posted. Cheers Paul

    Are U SURE!!!!!!!! that reverse is in neutral position??? if so than... well you are out of options I think you will have to pull the trans and pop the cover off to see whats up. You should be able to hold the input shaft in your hand and turn the output shaft while in neutral. Paul Paul

    First I would check the u-joints and the lube level in the rear end. I would then check the axle bearings as they are sealed type and do not use the rear end lube. Paul

    Top loader problem...HELP!!!

    I missed the fact that you have the shifter/ rods/levers still attached to the trans. I would unbolt the shift levers from the trans and by hand put it in neutral and confirm the problem. If the trans is STILL locked up I wonder if you lost the needle bearings off of the end of the input shaft...

    release the clutch.. drive shaft should turn in neutral only. Try each gear one at a time should lock up driveline. I believe it is possible in certain situations to get the trans in reverse and another gear at the same time which will lock up the trans.... it has happened to me. I used to...
