    Mysterious Vacuum Hose, were to...?

Thanks. I am getting two kits which Holley makes 20-41 (extension) and 20-91 (spring and a cam with some limit bolts). At which point front spring cam be eliminated. Also will need to straighten my throttle cable, as Vintageman pointed out.

    Mysterious Vacuum Hose, were to...?

I set to make sure throtle cable almost fully compressed when butterflied open. When disconnect throtle cable extends past carb cam as it should (this way cable spring should close buterfly). However my problem was kickdown linkage resisting closure of buterfly towards the end of the travel - I...

    Lokar kick down cable

Wondering the same. My 71 has Holley avenger 670 cab and whomever installed it knew nothing about carbs. Carb was opening butterflies only half way. To my understanding, we need to get eather a cable $29 (off brand SS) Or Kickdown kit and extension Holley 20-91 and holley 20-41 ... $32

    Mysterious Vacuum Hose, were to...?

Another issue I had was trans kickdown linkage was preventing carburetor to open past 45%. I massaged rod in to slightly different shape and took off a bolt on the carb kick down cam. Now cam on the carb does not start to engaging kick down linkage untill 45% open and fully engaged once carb is...

    Mysterious Vacuum Hose, were to...?

Thanks, I read it wrong first time. No vac at idle on ported, and as soon as throtle is open just a tad, should see vac.

    Mysterious Vacuum Hose, were to...?

    Mysterious Vacuum Hose, were to...?

Thanks. I will spray starting fluid and most likely pull carb off, as its the only way to set transition of the primary butterflies correctly. Also need allen screw to adjust secondary butterfly for idle.

    Mysterious Vacuum Hose, were to...?

So i tried to check timing on my 71. Disconnected both vacuum hoses from the distributor. Car idle slowly fluctuated from 1,000 - 1,600 rpms and timing fluctuation was 14 - 30. Vacuum was 14 - 21 (higher when rooms were higher). Why would rpms and timing fluctuate if I discovered and pluged...

    Mysterious Vacuum Hose, were to...?

As found, vacuum was not connected to the HVAC. Might be the only issue, If no vac = open valve. Thanks for headsup though, definitely something to check. Plunger on that valve does move by hand.

Thank you. Do you happen to have 1971 vacum to trans calibration?

    Mysterious Vacuum Hose, were to...?

Watching Autorestomod video, he states to not use ported vac on the side of the carb, but instead use vac niple on the bottom of the carb...for vacuum advance. Do you all agree? 8.3 min in to it

    Mysterious Vacuum Hose, were to...?

So someone did few realy dum things with this 71 mustang. In addition to vacuum line not plugged in to AC canister, vacuum niple at the bottom of the carb was open. Had small hose dressed on the niple, but hose was not plugged. Last owned did say that AC did not relly blown cold even after...

    Mysterious Vacuum Hose, were to...?

Thanks both you. My 73 has no AC so I could not confirm Vac lines to get my 71 corrected.

    Mysterious Vacuum Hose, were to...?

Since buying big blue from the member here, I finally took of intake filter to figure out why it runs 2k rpms at idle and hard to keep running while cold. So the car has Holly 670 cfm street avenger Carb and what I found is that there are two vac lines not connected anywhere. Small line goes...

    73 H code Convertible Build

So I washed my front seat foam cushion with mix of Borax powder, bakin soda and done soap in warm water. Squeezed foam as it was soaking for 10 min in the tub of the solution and then rinsed it twice, more squeezing. Water was gray brown, took care of the musky stench after drying on the sun...
