    US Indy Mags

They probably used the two washers to make up for the fact that the shank was a bit too long. You may still need the second washer.

    US Indy Mags

They were put on the car by the original owner in '74. I like them too. They have a vibe I think goes well with the overall appearance of the car. I still have the original "Klassics" scripted center caps like these. Mine are rusty, and I'm replacing them with new caps.

I replaced the lug nuts on mine, and still have the old nuts and the locks. Just checked, and these have 11/16 shanks. You can have 'em if they'll help. These are the ones I replaced.

In need of a build sheet?

Thanks. It'd be great to get this to the owner of the car it belongs to! (since it apparently never got put there)

    Fixing that broken clock.

I did have to remove the new clock bezel and hands, and I think I also removed the mech from its case, so I could get it to fit into the stock metal tray. I think I affixed it to the tray with epoxy putty. The neat thing is that now it has that," chok........ chok........ chok...

In need of a build sheet?

I recently removed the original carpeting and soundproofing in my '73 Mach-1 to install new soundproofing and re-install the carpet. Upon the removal I found my original build sheet, but (to my surprise) there was a second build sheet under there too. If anyone has a '73 Mach-1 in med metallic...

    Fixing that broken clock.

Bushwhacker Bob, I did almost the exact same protocol in fixing my clock, but I used this mechanism, and wired it in...

    8 track player speed adjustment

I have an 8-track player in my '73 Mach-1 as well. If your tapes run a little fast, (in my history,) it's a belt problem. Most motor drive wheels are barrel shaped, so that the proper sized belt rides in the center. If the belt was replaced and is too thin, it will ride in the "valley" of the...

    Intro from Az

There is a great car meet that happens in the cooler months at Phils Filling Station every Sunday morning at 8am, Now the same location hosts a meet called Summer Nights, or something like that, on Saturday nights. I haven't been yet, but it looks good too.

Hello from Phoenix. Welcome to the group (even though I don't post much). I don't know your area, but if it's near Phx, PM me! Mine is a '73 Mach-1 with a 351 Cleveland.

    hood stencil

My car is mostly a survivor; 80% original paint etc. Anyway, I decided I like the Air Ram painted hood look rather than a blank hood, since the car has side stripes. So I did some photo research, and eyeballed where the stripes seem to lay, (since we've all determined each is a bit different)...

    Interior painting

Like Vinatgeman implied, I believe SEM is suffering shrinkflation (less or thinned product for the same money). For the 32 bucks that you've invested in the SEM paint, it might be worth checking out a local automotive paint store. They can custom mix your EXACT color (as per the factory number)...

Dash: replacing old lamps with LEDs

About 6 years ago, I replaced the dash lights in my 73 with an LED set I got from CJ Pony. I had the option for white or blue, because my diffusion domes were broken, I opted for blue. All the lights that are white or red are vibrant ( Hi beam =red, Turns =white with green diffuser). The blue...

Did I Ruin My Ram Air Hood Springs?

I have cleaned the hinge points on my '73 with a chip brush and naptha, then lubed them with white lithium grease (really slick). The hood opens easily, and remains open nicely until I choose to close it. So I'd think it isn't a matter of resistance, but rather the springs were indeed stretched.

    BIG leak

Looking at your pictures, I see the ORIGINAL BUILD SHEET is there on the driver side floor! Please remove that as carefully as you can, and save it! (it's like gold)

NEED ALL MEMBERS TO RESPOND PLEASE!

1973 Mach-1 still sports its original factory paint although a bit worn. All body panels are original. It also has its factory issued Cleveland 351 engine, which has been fully rebuilt and its refurbished, original C6 transmission. Certain features were customized around 1974, These include...
