PCV... to be or not to be

I have one on my mild Cleveland build and really like it. The motor idled better and minor oil around the valve cover grommets went away. I am doing a 427 Windsor swap very soon (motor is built) and will use it again, tuned as necessary.

    4 post lift purchase

For me it was not having my suspension hang when stored. With my included jack I have had zero issues working off the lift when needed. I removed my old and installed my new SoT front coilover system with zero issues with regard to lift choice. If I were looking away from storage and more...

3/8 rachets best and best value for the buck

Funny as just today my wife and I went to a nearby "estate sale". I always hit the garage first and there was a nice USA Craftsman 1/2" drive breaker bar for $10. Next to it was a box of loose tools. Browsing the box I found another breaker bar, a long handled 1/2" drive Snap-On. I asked the guy...

    Stage 8 Locking Header Bolts

I will soon have a set of JBA long tubes arriving for my 427 Windsor that will land in my '73 Mach 1 Q code. Has anyone used the subject header bolts? Thoughts or proven alternatives appreciated. I will be using Remflex gaskets. I tried a search to no avail.

    Engine mount orientation

Not intending to derail this but clearly the knowledge is here. I have a '73 Mach 1 Q code with a rebuild of the motor and new mounts maybe 8 years ago by the PO. There is only 5K on the combo since then. I will soon be installing a 351 Windsor based stroker and, with the research I have done...

    Engine Build Complete

My water pump, a Stewart Hi-Performance Aluminum one, was provided by Vintage Air as I am going with their Front Runner serpentine system.

Looks similar to mine that I bought a few years ago. Don't know how I lived without it.

    Engine Build Complete

I spent last Thursday watching the assembly of my Windsor based 427. I wanted a good street engine making torque/HP in the RPM range I tend to drive. On Friday it was on the dyno for break in and tune. After 16 runs the tune was nailed. I am more than pleased with the results. It is going in my...

    best clutch kit?

Bringing this back up as I am in the throes of installing a 427 Windsor stroker (~500 hp/550 ft-lbs) in my 73 Mach 1. I am also installing a Tremec TKO 600 5 speed. I want to install the Centerforce Dual Friction clutch but only find them in 11" whereas the flywheel I am buying is 10.5". How do...

Electric Fan(s) and Fuel Pump Recommendations

I believe I am going to go this route as well. So there is plenty of room for the pump/inlet/outlets?

Electric Fan(s) and Fuel Pump Recommendations

I will soon be swapping my original 351 Clevelend in my '73 for a 427 Windsor stroker from a local builder (Smeding). I am also going to go with the Vintage Air Front Runner serpentine accessory drive as well. As such, I will need to go with and an electric fuel pump and cooling fan(s). I am...

    wheeler dealers

Agree on some of the changes though the PO of my 73 Mach 1 had it painted in 72 fashion. I actually prefer the 73 paint over the earlier ones. I enjoyed the show and thought the new guy did alright.
