    600 HP C4 Build Info

I'm beginning the prep to build a 600hp C4. Ideally, I'd like to find a resource that covers everything involved in building to this level. This book is one of a couple that come up in searches, but a lot of negative comments directed at TCI. From what I gather, it's more of a sales pitch for...

    Garage heaters

I have a kerosene heater than I pull out of the shed if I'm going to be in the garage several days in a row when it's cold. I'm in the Phoenix area, so it never gets very cold, to begin with.

    429 throttle cable

My car is an original H code and I've used the same cable for both 351c and 429. That's not to say Ford doesn't have a different PN for different engine applications, but the H code's cable will work for a 429.

Anyone ever find a drag coefficient for our cars?

From the acceleration plot, it looks like it was smoking the tires pretty hard off the line and up to about 20mph. Acceleration really dropped off at about 30mph....wonder why it laid down like that? I guess the 429 did something similar at around 38mph, but pulled harder through 2nd gear.

Personalized Plates Lets see how may different one are out there.

A Tale Of Two Cities — Cleveland Vs. Windsor (347ci)

Thanks, dunno why I was thinking there was a manifold involved.

So, I was just surfing the web, minding my own business, bouncing around on Ebay and then....

For a second there, I thought @midlife had been car-jacked!

    Hurst shifter question

This is supposed to be original from a 72 Ranchero. Interesting it has both patent numbers. Any of you know if that has any significance or is an identifying feature? Edit: Just noticed mine doesn't have the tab for reverse lamp switch....I'm thinking this is aftermarket. Hmmmmm

A Tale Of Two Cities — Cleveland Vs. Windsor (347ci)

Do you know which edelbrock intake they measured in the first chart?

    351C where to start?

Sounds like you're almost there with getting the tune dialed in. Great work! Were you able to find a definitive cause to your stalling problem? The filter on the suction side of fuel pump was suspicious IMO. In general, fuel filters on the suction side of a pump will have a negative impact...

What AFR gauge kit are you using?

I am running Innovation's dual wideband setup and am satisfied with it. I added their 5 channel data logger and SD Card recorder. In addition to the left & right AFR, it logs rpm, vacuum, speed, and detonation sensors. I have the parts to add oil and fuel pressure and throttle position...

    351c Build Ideas And Advice

In case you're not already aware, be sure to install the front cam bearing per ford's spec. They spec it at something like .003-.005" below face of block. TMeyer says he drives it in flush. I mentioned this because it's somewhat unique.

    351c Build Ideas And Advice

Ok, now this has piqued my interest. My hearing is crap from really bad tinnitus, but occasionally, I hear this very light clatter....I'm running vacuum advance off of manifold manifold vac, and was thinking maybe it was pinging...last weekend I was testing using a vacuum pump, but didn't have...

    351c Build Ideas And Advice

I was told by a respected engine builder that the longevity of the rollers on a hydraulic roller lifter is much greater than on a sold roller. I have no direct experience, but I went the hydraulic route. Edit: Roller lifters are a rabbit hole one can get lost in. I contacted a few of the...

    351c Build Ideas And Advice

The 408c I'm building uses TMeyer's stroker kit. He recommended his cam bearings and the oil mod (on his website). I've done both. I asked if there was anything else he recommended and he said I could run an oil line from front tap back to the rear for added measure, but it's not needed at...

    Bring cash

My first thought when I saw this was "Corvette Summer"....this one's not as over-the-top as the cars in that movie, but it's well on its way.

Need advice on PS pump replacement

There is a puller/installation set specific to power steering pulleys. You should be able to borrow one from O'Reilly's or Autozone, but they are fairly inexpensive. Harbor Freight has one that seems acceptable. You'll have to remove your pulley to get the pump bracket off the old pump, so...

    Torino/Ranchero Ribbon Tach

I had not looked at it closely and just saw that it has your label with S/N 5506 from 7/21/20. I consider that an added bonus.

    Torino/Ranchero Ribbon Tach

Do any of you happen to know if the ribbon tach uses the same type of movement as the 71-73 mustang tach? I just picked one up and it has 3 wires, so I'm thinking it does not use the same technology.
