    Oh my God!

I just let my 24 year old son drive the '73 for the first time. He's been jonesing since high school.

    Another off topic F150 post

So my son bought an 86 F150. V8, 4 spd, 4x4. We drove it 60 miles home and then it would not start. I wonder why? I can't believe it ran at all. I've heard of HEI but jumping almost an inch? Correct cap and rotor and it fired right up again. No wonder the previous owner said it was...

    Way off topic WTB

I know Mustangs and F150s go together so I'm hoping someone can help. My son broke the antiknock sensor off his F150 changing the motor mounts (long story!). The part is not available anywhere so I'm reaching out to see if anyone has one or can help. Without the sensor, timing goes into...

Help, my kids have taken over the garage

Things are getting out of hand... They are having a blast and learning that heat is necessary to break red thread lock from China.

    Turn Key One Crank

Usual Ford nonsense. Could be low battery, the connections at the starter are bad, the ground is bad, or the solenoid is bad. Any advice before I dig in? Battery was on a trickle charger for two weeks and is showing 12.85V - bit low but enough? Thanks

    jb73Mach Motorsports

At least there is a Mustang in the picture. The neighborhood kids (including mine) are learning that you can build speed but you also have to pay for what you destroy - at least tire wise. My son gave my 70 year old neighbor a great run including drifts at both ends of the street. Long live FUN.

My wife figured out how to get the yard work done

So, she finally figured it out. Put 14 cubic yards of mulch between the Mustang and the street. Now, I'm too tired to actually drive! Happy Spring.

    73 Space Saver Inflator bottle

Does anyone have good pictures of the inflator bottle to the 73 space saver spare? I've seen many that claim to be correct but appear to be closer to a red propane tank. A set of good pictures would help me alot. Thanks in advance.

Interior quarter trim for fold down rear seat

Do the same interior rear quarter panels fit all 71-73 Mustangs with the fold down rear seat? This is only the rear piece that wraps around to the fold down unit. The part numbers that I have are D3ZB 6331113 for the drivers side and D3ZB 6331112 for the passenger side. Any help will be...

Not the Mustang but what I did today

So I spent the day putting brush guards and nerf bars on my son's truck. I can't believe how bad the quality of "bolt on" parts is in this day and age. I spent many hours bending, enlarging holes in steel brackets, and in general taking care of problems that should have been addressed by the...

Long shot - looking for an old friend

This is probably a long shot but I would love to find out anything about the '71 that I purchased in high school. VIN 1F02F210397. I bought it in 1981 and sold it in Virginia on March 2, 1993. I may be able to dig up an old Polaroid - green with a standard ginger interior. Anyone here know...

Washington DC Area Meet and Greet?

Anyone interested in a meet and greet on Friday May 2? My local First Friday has a cruise in from 5-8 pm. The address is 111 Park Avenue, Falls Church, VA 22046. There is usually live music. If you are interested, get there early - the first 25 cars get a T-shirt and a dash plaque. There is...

62 degrees - I'm in the dog house

It was finally a great day to warm up the Mustang. However, the ground outside the garage had just thawed. Mrs. saw the mess and now I'm in the dog house (but it was so worth it!)

    Running rough

So the Mustang would start right up, high idle for a minute, then die - not to be restarted until completely cold again. I figured choke but after a lot of messing around, no luck. I was able to keep it running with constant attention to the throttle and when warm, it calmed down and idled. So...

Calling all owners of seat material oddity - no comfort weave or D4 Pinto seat backs

All with seat material from late 1973 without comfort weave or Pinto seat backs: I have been trying to follow up with the gods of Mustang history to get a final resolution to our question about Pinto seat backs and plain vinyl panels instead of comfort weave. If you can send me pictures, build...

    New vehicle in the garage

Just added a new vehicle to the garage. My son is getting ready to drive and I wanted him to learn on a stick. 5 spd, 4X4, it is fun to drive. Now we get to learn body work to get rid of the rust...

    C6 shirter linkage adjustment question

My trans can go from park to reverse despite the key being out. Does anyone know where to look to fix this? My shifter is a mess and out for new bushings but if I do have a neutral start switch problem, I assume that I need to get other linkage things adjusted as well. There is no kickdown...

    Starting problems

Came out this morning and the key won't engage the starter. Jumped the solenoid and it cranks. With the key in the start position, I'm only getting a little over 6 volts to the solenoid. Is this an issue with the ignition switch? I assume it is not the neutral safety switch if I am getting...
