    I tried . . .

Hi All, well after selling my beloved 72 vert to fund the purchase of a 69 Mach 1, I came into funds again and tried to find another 71-73 in the UK, but prices have gone crazy over here.  They now seem to start from $32,000 for a basic 302 vert to $48,000 for 351C.  And that's with our weak...

72 Q Code, what do you think?

Hi Guys, Would be grateful for your opinion on this 72 Q Code please?  It's cheap but needs some work. Should I buy it? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Mustang-Mach-1/223083703835?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

    Missing my 72

Hi All, So I replaced my 72 vert for a 69 Mach 1 and thought it would be ok.  Well, it's not.  Don't get me wrong, the 69 is a great car and fast (created a website for it: http://www.fordmustangmach1.com), but I still love the look of those 71-73's. So the plan is to have 2 Mustangs. I've...

    Just bought a 69 Mach 1

Hi Chaps, So I've bought another Mustang, a 1969 Mach 1 351W 4 barrel.  California survivor car, 1 owner and in time warp condition.  Car has all original parts, original paint, low miles, all matching numbers and no rust.  Only mods are an Edelbrock carb and airfilter. Below are pics showing...

What does HO stand for on 72 R codes?

Hi All, Was interested to reading about the 351 HO Mustangs and that there was a performance option in 1972 but Ford didn't shout about it. Just wondering if anyone knows what the HO stands for?

    Any love for Hi-Riders?

Just watched this film and reminded me of the good old days. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZ8NyL5Niko Those cars may have driven like a piece of $hit but they sure looked good!

    What's your MPG?

Just wondering what you're getting to the gallon on your 71-73? I'm running a low spec 302 2V with a standard Autolite 2 barrel carb and am getting 24mpg, which seems ok for these things. I got the timing sorted recently too and it's pulling nicely now. What are you getting?

Big money problems from the UK

So little old England voted on some political stuff last week and now our exchange rate to the dollar has gone to $hit! How are we going to buy those Mustang parts?! The parts, shipping and import duty have sky rocketed. And this is not going away any time soon. CJ's is going to feel the...

American Car Magazine - 71/73 love?

The UK American Car Magazine did a feature on a 72 Mach 1 a few months back and asked if there was any love for the "aircraft carrier" Mustang. Thought I'd pitch in.

    10X15s on the rear?

Hi All, Just wondering if anyone is running 10 X 15s on the rear and 8 X 15's on the front? Thinking of doing it to my car. Thanks for any comments you may have.

    Handling

Just wondered why our cars seem to handle better than the 1964-1970 Mustangs. The 69 and 70 Mach 1's I've driven seemed to handle like a wheelbarrows around corners, yet mine handles much flatter. Did they make improvements to the geometry / steering?

    New brake cylinder leaking

Hi All, I fitted a new brake cylinder to my car 9 months ago. I've done about 800 miles in it since and I've noticed rust streaks down the sides of it, so I guess the seal in it is leaking. Does anyone know why this is happening please? Any suggestions much appreciated.
