What did you do today instead of working on your Mustang?

FMX slipping when turning left corners

My FMX (with 250,000 miles) is slow to drop into gear when I start the car in the morning. It seems better when it warms up. Recently is shifts into 2nd gear but seems to slip a bit then too. It used to get rubber when shifting to 2nd. Also when turning left it frequently slips. I have...

    Screeching noise at speeds

I think the noise is from my FMX transmission. It is a screeching noise like metal fingernails on a metal chalkboard. At 80 MPH on the highway is get louder, but still comes and goes. I tried tapping the brakes or taking my foot off the accellerator, which does not seem to change it. But it...

Coupe/vert trunk lid fitment tricks? Anyone get rid of the torsion spring

My 73 Mustang convert. came with both left and right springs. I removed one as it was too much. Now 15 years later, I wish I still had it. The lid stays open if there is no wind. Needs the 2nd spring.

    Parts For Sale NOS Hood

I have one of the aftermarket NACA hoods and the fit is not great. The 'hump' curve (fore and aft) along the side edges does NOT match the same curve on the fenders exactly. So there is a gap, no matter how much the fenders or hood is adjusted. I do not recall where it was from, but it was...

1973 Grille Pony emblem vs. corral

Can anyone tell me why some 1973 models have the tri-color bar/running horse emblem in the center of the grille, and some 1973 have the familiar 'Corral' around the running horse in the center?
