    Radiator Replacement Question--two parts!

Pull the radiator hoses off as well. If they have the internal wire coils, check they are in one piece. If not those bits of wire are probably inside the block.

Upper and lower control arm replacement

I used Black Zinc paint on all the under body suspension parts, also the diff housing. The parts were stripped/blasted to bare metal and then coated as per can instructions. This stuff doesn't chip like primer and paint. Great on coil & flat springs, torsion bars, exhaust hangers, etc. Finish is...

    Under the sill

Steve, I didn't bother with any board or cardboard. I used a length of aluminium gutter guard. easy to cut, bend, punch holes, waterproof and strong enough. David

An Ausy vehicle I've never seen before.

Just saw this. I guess it is in Canada because someone liked it enough to import it. Same as LHD vehicles are imported to RHD countries. Sadly no vehicles are manufactured in Aus any more. Utes have always been popular here with the XA, XB's a bit like 71-73 Mustangs turned into utes. Various...

Needed help with my roof repair, it was weak and had an oil canny feel. I think I have it solved, now.

Mine was much the same in relation to flexing although no issues with it being bent down. I installed a good quality piece sound deadener between the center brace and roof skin with no space, so no flexing between these two. Take out the old hard piece that is in there. Then I stuck on sound...

Door glass popping out at speed

Do the chrome trims gave these clips? These are to keep the window glass in when fully wound up.

New front end finishing touches added 3/8" spacers & eliminated saddle squeaks.

I have just fitted the same saddles with the grease fittings after trying to find the odd annoying rattle and squeak in the front end. No amount of spray silicone, etc would fix the noises so I decided to pull the control arm and investigate as they appeared to be off center. The original new...

Soliciting thoughts on changing paint color

Just my thoughts but if you have an original car, matching numbers, Marti report, etc, stay with the factory colour. Didn't think I would ever buy/paint a yellow car, BUT, glad I stayed with the factory Medium Bright Yellow. Every time I am out with the car, without exception, I get great...

Stainless Trim on Deluxe Door Panels

Several aluminium tabs on my door trims were missing/almost broken. I removed them all and cut small strips of mild steel sheeting. Bent them to fit into the trim slot and fixed them in place with fiber glass/epoxy. The steel tabs pulled the trims in firmly.

    Testing AC/heater Vac System

My build project included a complete overhaul of the AC/heating system. I needed a method to initially test the vac motors and then the system once installed without the motor running. I had an old 12V Jumper Pack that had a tyre inflator. Battery died so pulled it apart and kept a few bits. The...

    71 coupe front valence

I made up brackets to fit for strength as the spoiler screws to the valance. LH hole is also for the AC condenser bracket. This is on a 73.

My Old 1973 Mach 1 is now in New Zealand!

Is mine from the Wild Wild West ?? Marti report shows it was originally shipped to California. I finally got around to sorting the 600+ photos in date order, of my Mustang build including initial rust repairs. There's a hole in the rear panel on the car. After it came back from sandblasting...

    What's this Tool?

Thanks Don, the yellow tape is my new one. 😊 It's the timber one that's the mystery. It's graduated from 0 to 90. From the 0 point, each 10 points gradually reduces. ie 0 to 10 measures 2-15/32". 80 to 90 measures 1-13/16" Two brass pin points are on the lower edge at 0 and 60 points.

    What's this Tool?

I've had this old ruler for many years. Scale doesn't match imperial or metric measurements. Possibly and engineering scale?

    Rattled by the rattle

A couple of rattles, bangs and squeaks I have fixed on my new suspension over the past 12-18 months. Strut rod bush crumpled on LH side creating loud metalic bang under brakes or rough surfaces. Poor quality rubber. The strut rod bush had a piece missing on the underside causing the strut rod...
