Wha did you do to your Mustang today?

Added the "Mustang Steve" brackets today. I was a little bummed out when I realized the '73 bearing races don't fit in the 64-69 hubs. I was looking all over for '73 hubs to go with my '73 spindles but couldn't find them. Then I noticed that 'Street or Track' had the '64-'69 listed as '64-'73...

AC this is a first for me. Not for the faint hearted!

Exact same thing happened to me. My car sat for about 15 years outside with a car cover on it. When I opened the box it was full of old mice ruin. There is no screen on the air inlet from the top of the firewall, something I shall remedy before I put it back together. You might want to reach...

Wha did you do to your Mustang today?

What an exciting day! Finally got the old Drum style calipers in, they have been holding me up for a couple weeks. Finally able to tie in the Global West upper and lower control arms, old struts and the new 1-1/8" sway bar. Just waiting on the new drum rotors and I can install the Mustang Steve...

    3 Inch Exhaust

Velocity is what gets you power. No velocity = no lower end torque.

    3 Inch Exhaust

Are you planning on running over 500 hp? 2.5" dual exhaust is good to 500, so if you go with 3" and you are not in that range you may lose some power due to back pressure losses.

    351c 2v 4 bbl intake options

I am running a 2V Weiand X-cellerator intake with an Edelbrock 4150 throttle body and a 1" spacer between the throttle body and the air cleaner with aftermarket NACA air cleaner and active plenum and my seal is just right. I recall after ordering the intake that it was just a smidge higher than...

    351 2v to 4v conversation

I sure wish 'a guy' would walk into my shop with $200 Aussie 302 heads.

    351 2v to 4v conversation

Bench flow the intake manifold runners and compare that to the heads. Put port stuffers in the heads and get them port matched and get the intake manifold up to the same flow of the heads then get a cam to match your desired power range in rpm.

Ignition switch and Lock cylinder question

Pulled the column to repair a missing ignition cylinder assembly. Last time the car was started (20 years ago), it was with a screwdriver to turn the gear inside the column. It was so stiff it wouldn't move. I removed the retaining lock clip and washer to get the gear out and clean it up. I...

Is there difference for front drum spindles on V8 cars and 6 cylinder?

I have discs now but I am switching to drums so I can add a large brake package. Is it still the same bearings?

Is there difference for front drum spindles on V8 cars and 6 cylinder?

I want to convert to drum spindles to hold a bigger brake conversion kit and found some spindles but I am not sure if there is a difference between the V8 drum spindles and the drum spindles from a 6 cylinder. Anyone know if they are the same part number?

    Headers

You need to compare apples to apples. Eliminator is just blowing exhaust to atmosphere, there is no back pressure to send a resonance wave back to the exhaust valve. In normal closed systems the long tube headers allow for a longer distance before sending a pulse back to the exhaust valve which...

    Frustration with Front end!

For anyone that reads this thread and wants to replace the strut rod bushings, just be forewarned that Ford had pressed an inner sleeve into the main sleeve and flared the ends to prevent the bushings from falling out on the assembly line. You can just drill out a small bit on one side to...

Half the weight loss is the '73 bumper brackets. those things weight a ton.

    71-72 bumpers on a 73

Going to try it out without changing any of the holes in either the frame or the mount. I don't have the front mounting bracket yet (delayed in shipping) so I am not sure how the bumper is going to sit. I may have to come back to this post and edit it if I have to lengthen any of the mounting...
