    As per you first pic . If that is how it is there is parts missing. There should be the kickdown lever bolted there with a 5/16 UNF nut and of course a seal fitted in there .

    Just for info here , I know its old but no mention. The issue with number of frictions . The forward clutch uses the thin frictions @ usually .058"-.061" . The rear clutch uses .078" frictions . Some those sizes can be mix n matched to get clearance . I'd say that's the issue here why you can't...

    All depends exactly which pan as there are a few different factory types. Best method is verifying correct dipstick level then fill. Anything else is just a guess

    No C6 ever had the removeable bellhousing . The only one I have ever seen done with a bolt on bell is by the Merkl's just converted one to fit a Godzilla motor , cut factory bell and used a converted Ultrabell

    An O'ring can be used and does work. The "correct" seal for the kickdown is what is called a quad seal. Like a square cut o'ring that has a lip on each edge

    What was the converter to flexplate clearance? Did you replace the  flexplate and by chance get a C6 one ? They are different .

    1/4-28 is the thread for fitting into case , the 5/16 inverted flare !/@-20 is the fitting for the line into the fitting

    What sort of rebuild was it ? Was it built right or just new parts thrown at it with no other measuring or checks ? Was the valvebody aligned correctly when fitted ?  Were any bushes changed ? Endfloat checks ? Clutch clearances ? Band adjustments ?
