    symmetric hood black out painting

I got her black out painted today! The blackout on the car when I got it was way off and looked like just a guess at most, and the yellow ducts had to go!

    symmetric hood black out painting

That sucks, but I can see that happening. And when I was looking through hood pictures, it looks like everyone did their own thing, as almost no 2 are alike. I personally don't like the "too rounded" bottom corners, so I'm making them tighter. And you are correct, only the anoraks would know...

    symmetric hood black out painting

Thanks! It's just the angle of the picture. The measurement is incorrect in the illustration. The trim is 1 1/4" wide and they say double it, which is too far away. Mine is actually set at 2".

    symmetric hood black out painting

For you DIYers, I had to do some bodywork on my hood, and thus needed a repaint. So being the kind of guy that likes to do things myself (cheap, I didn't want to spend a bunch of $$$ for a template) I found a diagram for the black out. the easy way to get symmetry, is to just tape the curvature...

There was one Mustang that actually had 1 NACA scoop, but it was a 1970 Shelby

No big story, she is just out of Winter "mode"

Cover off, trickle charger disconnected. She pretty much just started right up. It's funny to me, that it's easy to forget just how big these gals are (in the best way) and just how perfect their lines are. Just have to get the hood done and she is ready for Summer fun!

    Cranking PSI 72 351C 2 bbl

Funny, That though popped into my head when I saw the acceptable range of compression psi.

    Cranking PSI 72 351C 2 bbl

Thanks for your post. Then I guess I'm back to square one. I need to know the factory psi for the H code 351C 2bbl. I guess it is nowhere to be found. I don't see how anyone can figure out if their ring/valve seal is any good without a total stock rebuild to test. That 40psi "range" is...

What is the favorite Electronic ignition conversion?

With the mods I will be doing, IE Torqstorm supercharger, I know the stock points will not cut it. What 's the favorite electronic ignition conversion? 72 351C

    Cranking PSI 72 351C 2 bbl

Then we will agree to disagree. As you posted, compression ratio has no effect on power. 130psi converts to 8.9:1 and 190psi converts to 13:1. Which engine will run circles around the other? And wanting to know a baseline psi tells me the motor is not worn out, in a quick and dirty way. Even if...

    Cranking PSI 72 351C 2 bbl

I was just looking for the factory "base" PSI. I built performance 2 stroke motorcycle engines as a profession for the last 22 years, so I know the parameters. But it seems some guys don't realize the base psi is very important. As many post "as long as they are with in 10% differential" or what...

    Cranking PSI 72 351C 2 bbl

I just found (actually thought to look for a calculator) for the conversion 8.6:1 is 126 at sea level. Which I'm getting 120 psi at 5500ft alt. So I'm good. https://calculator.academy/compression-ratio-to-psi-calculator/#f1p1|f2p0
