    Reinstall A/C System?

When I bought my '73 vert over a year ago the air conditioning had been removed (to save weight, presumably, and also because, well, it's a convertible). The seller, however, gave me all the parts in a box. I now realize that as the days get hotter it may be impractical for me to drive it when...

    Crack in Paint

Hello, I have a '73 vert and I happened to notice a very thin, one-inch crack has appeared in the paint behind the chrome molding just behind the fabric top (please see pics). The paint is not original; the car received a medium- quality repaint about 15 years ago. Is there something I can...

    Doors out of Alignment

Thanks Mike, I really appreciate your response. The proper way to go is certainly clear; however, it sounds like you'd have to be an auto body professional to accomplish this kind of work; otherwise, it would cost many thousands of dollars to have someone do it for you. I'm definitely not in the...

    Doors out of Alignment

I purchased my '73 vert about six months ago and both doors were out of alignment. I'd taken it to several body shops to see about getting them aligned. At the body shop I took it to today the owner told me that he's seen this with many convertibles (I hope I'm able to explain this accurately)...

    Rear End Conversion - Confused!

Please forgive me as I try to explain my situation; it may sound confusing at first. I went ahead and made the changes to the rear end of my '73 vert as described in the first screenshot below. The rear quarter panel extensions on the '71-72 are supposed to be longer than the ones of the '73 so...

    "Moonfall" Mach 1

I just caught a recent flick, I believe on NetFlix, called "Moonfall." It's a sci-fi picture starring Halle Berry. In it, Patrick Wilson's character is restoring a 71-73 Mach 1 (sorry, haven't had time to take a screenshot).

    Dash Lights Question

Hello All, I have a '73 vert with original tach on dash. I've never seen either of the two lights on the tach lit (the "Mustang" and "Brakes" lights). What events are supposed to light them? And if they don't work, what are the recommended troubleshooting steps? The tach works fine otherwise.

    Vert stainless windshield cap?

I just went through this process. You have to start by removing the vertical plastic inside covers on the A pillars, then unscrewing and removing the silver, metal powder-coated pieces which are facing downward on the inside above the visors (be sure to remove the sun visor retaining bracket in...

    How to Clean Hood Graphic?

I know that this black hood graphic isn't exactly supposed to shine but it isn't entirely flat either, correct? What product is recommended to clean it and make it look nice?

Too Much Space Between Between Bumper and Rear End

Thank you all, I had to cut some depth out of the steel '71 brackets then have them welded together (cost me $100 for a professional to do it). The bumper sits beautifully now.

    Clearcoat Haze

I had to repaint an area on the rear of my '73 convertible (base/clearcoat). I did a thorough job of masking the back half of the car, but after spraying the clearcoat I discovered that it had drifted in a cloud all over my garage and settled on everything. Now the entire front half of the car...
