    Last week in Tulsa

Here's a shot at the drags last weekend. Basically, a heads-up race. Marvin spotted him by .020, dialed out by .010, lost by .008. He was in a 1968? Olds 442. Very detailed car. I had never seen him before. Then found out he runs Mokan, a regular. He went 2 more rounds and won. Overall. The...

? Try this again with fewer words.

I was having problems with the turn signals, replaced the turn signal assy. and it worked for 2 whole months. All the lights work front and rear with the lights on. The hazards activate both front and rear. Turn the right turn signal on the front right works with no rear signal light. Turn the...

    Turn signals more b.s.

I was having problems with the turn signals, replaced the turn signal assy. and it worked for 2 whole months. I was having a separate problem with the left blinker light not working in the dash, I tweaked the tang on the bulb socket to fix it. So, this has nothing to do with this. All the...

A lil head gasket R&R. 351C-4V closed wedge chamber, boss/high-output head (adjustable rockers with screw-in studs)

Note: factory pushrod guide plates. yep, changed out the head gaskets, reset the gaps, reset the rockers tighter on the exhaust. Went cruising all day yesterday on it, this is one time my neighbors were happy to see me cruising one of my old piston engines.

New front end finishing touches add spacers eliminated saddle squeaks. side 2

Side 2. If you cheat and fasten the lil rubber tit's with wire, the freak'n rubber pads wont keep coming off when you are trying to put your spring in. Those lil pads were very annoying. I took it out and drove it, there's no more squeaks. The front end is just right, however, .... now the back...

New front end finishing touches added 3/8" spacers & eliminated saddle squeaks.

I just rebuilt this front end a month ago. I used the 1" lowered spring which is also thicker, anyway I've been intending on adding the 3/8" polyurethane spacer/insulators. Which almost doubles the height lets say 3/4" ht. While I'm at it, I'm adding these saddles, that have grease fittings...

$300+ pc of plastic arrived. Finishing touches on a 73 to 71 bumper conversion

This was a 73 car; I just couldn't put that 77lb bumper w/ the 23lb a pc battleship sized brackets on this car. The extra 90lb ballast that far in front of the wheels is a lot of centrifugal force when cornering. The 73 grill didn't look like it would fit the bumper on the bottom, so I ordered...

    Frontend rebuild 73 Mach 1

Picture #1 Ford tool. Picture #2 I removed 2lbs of crap from this pocket on each side. A good use for etching primer. #3 only one side. #4 for some reason they packed under coating 1/2" thick in that pocket. #5 I sand blasted the original control arms and installed the shafts. I wouldn't do...

Got tired of bottoming out. Brand new tires are no longer at risk

I got tired of the car bottoming out. I disposed of the stock flattened out leafs & added these 5 leaf springs from CJ pony. They are the same height as the originals w/ the shackles on the last lowest position. I took it out and there's no more bottoming out without having to jack the car up...

73 Mach 1 where is the resister wire? color? What's the best bypass method?

I've got a MSD box w/a Unilite distributor. I assumed I had a full 12 vt since this thing came with a Motorcraft electronic distributor. Starts and runs w/ a slight miss, then carbon fouls plugs. I'm leaning more towards the electronic side of this being the problem. I had 12+vt at the starter...

I'm surprised parts stores don't have rebuilt power brake boosters for these.

Power brake booster 73. I take it my best bet is online @ 229.00 ... Very few of the systems stayed the course on this car. It's nickel and diming me to the very end. I wanted to test drive it on the street, instead of toying around in the back yard and the pedal is hard yet kinda useless. Oh...

Clear up the confusion 73 to 71 front bumper swap.

I did the swap to the 71 bumper and brackets. Yes, you have to change out the fenders & the brackets. Pic 1 shows a 71 complete assy. next to the 73 urethane bumper & brackets. The 71 complete assy. is 35 lbs (even with the bolts). On the 73, the bumper alone is @ 75 lbs + each telescoping...

    New member from Tulsa Oklahoma

I'm semi retired; which means that I spend an average of 50 hrs a week working on various car projects. I've been doing a complete rebuild of a 73 Mach 1. I bought 2 cars in parts and have been selling off parts to assist in the build price. I started out with a Q code 73 Mach1 & am selecting...
