    Question about engine frame mounts

TY. I believe Ford's 302 is one of the best engines they ever produced. It's simplicity makes it very attractive.

Not a restorer, just a hobbiest that has a couple

Thanks for the many welcomes. I'll keep the forum posted of my progress. The plan now is to run the car with a 302, keep the manual drums, and manual steering. My biggest obstacles are the driver's side rear quarter and the rusty cowl section. Thanks everybody!

Not a restorer, just a hobbiest that has a couple

I picked the car up for 600 bucks. The floors need attention, the 460 is rebuildable and incomplete. The c6 would require a rebuild. Exhaust manifolds, intake manifold and D4 heads were on top of the engine. Was 600 a fair deal?

    Question about engine frame mounts

Good information. The '73 introduced a few changes in several aspects of the car. It's getting a 302 that I picked up recently. While looking into the engine, I put a new oil pan on and took a inspection of its internals. Looks as though it has very little usage since a rebuild. The crank is...

Not a restorer, just a hobbiest that has a couple

I live in NE Texas. The car is a 1973 Mach1. It is the 'bare bones' model. The only options it appears to have had are A/C. Understandable for NE Texas, which I believe the car is native to this area. It had the 302 with 3 Speed manual, 8 inch with 2.73 gears, and manual drum brakes all...

Not a restorer, just a hobbiest that has a couple

Always been a fan of the early Mustangs. I have had my '69 Mach1 since the late '80's. I have dabbled with fox bodies a little over the years. The one body that has grown on me, but never really had the opportunity to purchase is the 71-73 Mustang. Well, that changed here about 2 months ago...

    Question about engine frame mounts

Thanks for the information. I purchased the '73 engine mounts before realizing all the ins and outs. So the two options I look into are fabricating my own frame 'brackets' or coming across some used to match the new engine mounts. Or keep my eyes out for a 71-72 combo. Thanks again...

    Question about engine frame mounts

Wow! You have gone above and beyond. Thank you so much. I have no desire to make the car a show winning resto. I just want to get the car back on the road and safe. I will gladly use the 71-72 combo if necessary. If that doesn't pan out, I will fabricate something. Those pictures you...

    Question about engine frame mounts

Not annoying at all. Thanks for the input. Those, however, appear the mounts that bolt to the engine block. 351c1971, thank you. I think that's what I'm looking for. The big block frame mounts look very similar, however, the thru-hole that the mount bolt would go through, is more in the...

    Question about engine frame mounts

Thank you for your response. Is this an item that is readily available? Appreciate the welcome. I will introduce my old mustangs in a separate thread. I purchased new engine mounts for the engine, but now need the frame mounts.

    Question about engine frame mounts

I picked up a 1973 Mach 1 that is in desperate need of some attention. The car has been sitting since the early '90's. The car was born with a 302 and 3 speed setup. The previous owner was apparently in the process of swapping in a big block mated to a c6 combo. During the swap it appears...
