That white car as presented in 2021 Ford Nationals as Shelby Europa almost 100% sure is not a genuine Shelby Europa. To make sure, the VIN shall be seen and verified, including the hidden VINs, and by Kevin Marti Report and compared to Claude Dubois' files. It is a nice copy/tribute/clone, though. Many details are not correct. I am the owner of the two genuine Shelby Europa convertibles, and I have written the updated 6-page chapter about Shelby Europas to SAAC 2014 Shelby World Registry Book in Vol 3, pp. 1419-1424, together with Rick Kopec of SAAC and Wolfgang Kohrn from Germany, and with help of Edwin van Beurden from the Netherlands owning a genuine Shelby Europa. All Shelby Europas went through Ford Dealer Bob Ford at Dearborn, and carry a special Claude Dubois Data Plate. There were only nine (not 14 as mentioned in the 1997 SAAC World Registry Book) Shelby Europas produced, of which only two were convertibles, and at this moment, the whereabouts of 3 cars are not known: the red GT-350 sold as new to Switzerland, the red GT-350 stolen in 1987 and not yet found, and the white GT-500 with a 429SCJ. There is the description of all individual Shelby Europas. All Shelby Europas were based on 1971 Mustang, none on 1972 Mustang, and all fastbacks (Ford named sportroofs) were as 02 body code in the VIN. The writing was based on Claude Dubois' personal files that were cross-checked with Ford Mustang Production data obtained from Kevin Marti. Rgds, Dr Rauno Harvima, Kuopio, Finland, Europe

Fascinating information Dr Harvima. Thanks for sharing. Kevin.

I'm pretty sure I used to own the 73 Copper convertible in that video. I can't remember who I sold that car to. Another one I sold too cheap. Is that person on the forum?

Dr Harvima, Thanks for the updated post and I am glad to hear you are well. I recognize and fully respect the difficulty and volume of work yourself, Wolfgang and your colleagues went through to document the real 1971 Shelby Europa Sport roofs and convertibles.

As I have said to you before, the Europa Shelby's represent an incredible story and I for one am fascinated by them. Yes, the white car in the video is a unique and beautiful car. Thank you for adding to this discusion and sharing your knowledge and experiences.

I spoke with the owner of the Europa clone and he did confirm it was truly a clone. He was very convincing that he acquired Europa specific parts and did have a current Europa owner from Europe assess the car and commented it was very original appearing. He did go a little to far in my opinion in commenting to others that it was a Europa and not a tribute, but that is just the purist coming out in me.
