1973 convertible with 351C and C6 trans
the finger ring on trans dipstick broke off and want to replace it. the number on mine is D3ZP-7A020-AA, google it and says it's for a 73-74 lincoln. anyone have the number on the stick so i can get a new or used one or suggestion.

That's the correct stamping number for a 73 Mustang/Cougar C-6. The part # is D3ZZ-7A020-A, which was never superseded or replaced. WCCC has a listing, but no inventory.


IMO, I'd find a local fab shop and have them TIG weld the loop back on. A box of donuts or a 12-pack make for good currency.

D3ZP-7A020-AA7A020 is correct for a C6 'oil indicator'.

The D3ZP- is the model year (decade and year), Model and Fit.
In this case D3 = 73, Model (Z= Mustang) and P (Automatic Transmission).
The -AA at the end is an engineering revision code.

So the one marked D3ZP-7A020-AA is correct for a 1973 Mustang C6 dipstick.
