73 Grande will undergo three phase build process. Phase 1 is complete (driver). Phase 2 is interior/exterior restoration. Phase 3 is ++ performance.
For those of you who installed a late 80’s, early 90’s 5l from a donor, what upper radiator hose did you use? The stock hose that came from the 87 TBird fits the contour great, it’s just the stock Mustang radiator has a 1.5” fitting and the hose is 1.25” (there both 1.5” at the thermostat housing). Does anyone know if someone made/makes a similar shaped hose with 1.5” on both ends?

Hemikiller, are you saying the 87 upper hose routing, intended to avoid the tensioner, is deficient when compared to the 73 routing?

It seems to me the 73 hose routing will run into that drive component. Now, of the pipe comes straight out, will it clear the idler pulley from the tensioner? I see what your saying. It’s an option. Let me think a spell.

Does OP have the serpentine belt system still on the motor?

In 1971-73, there were options for inline 6 cyl motors and a 302. When I put in the 351w, I used an angled thermostat housing and a radiator hose for a 302 mustang.
