As the highway is visible from outside my office, I hear and see the occasional fender bender.
Yesterday, a loud screech caught my attention - and I was just in time to see a '65/66 come to a rest with its nose pointing towards the wall (excuse the smartphone zoom):
I'm not sure if his left front brake had jammed, or whether a tire had blown out (pretty sure it was the latter, as he popped the trunk for the tire iron) - and I never did find out for sure - but he was able to drive away after inspecting it.
Watching the thing screech to a stop was eerily unsettling, as I immediately thought of our forum member BigBlue before that '65/66 had come to a stop:
