Hi All,
The oil pressure gauge on all 1965-1973 mustangs is a thermal gauge. The response is very slow and the 71-73 has a peg at 3/4 of the way to full. The best way to correct it is a new gauge, but I think it should look like it always was a ford part most of the time. Others install other gauges and this is totally acceptable too. The attached information may take two posts. It is a complete design. I bought the stuffed boards from WWW electronics in Charlotte VA. I sent them Rev A version pcb files. The cost was about $100.00 per board first run. The bom for just board components is about $38.00. This did not include Simco LTD needle ,meter and mechanical parts. The decal design required me to send an autocad file to get finished decals. I will send this file if it will post or send it by E-mail if someone needs it. I sent a similar one to rocket man for his ampmeter to voltmeter for 11-15V scale. You need a VDO or Autometer 240-33 ohm sensor. When hooking it up in original location you should use a VX7805-1000 ( cui from digikey 102-4253-ND) behind dash cluster to replace guts of original regulator. This will allow you to keep gauge wiring the same except for additional ground ( remote sense E3) wire needed grounded to dash metal. It will not work connected to this vibrating regulator. The other ground power (E4) gets attached to ground leads in center dash gauges black wires from lights. Please take your time looking at all of this.
Thank You
Stev

Hi All,
Some stuff I forgot.
The recommended driver by on semi has all kinds of thermal drift and get hot. The reason for this movement was to locate the pin that swings the needle in the same place as the Ford version. You can use a cheap air core movement for 0-90 degree sweep (not very accurate) instead of this but then it would not fit without hogging out the plastic. This sine cosine circuit is perfect for 90 degrees , simple and reliable. You ca power it with any voltage from 5 to 16 volts.

Simco LTD
2022-708 MAC movement - Straight shaft, 5k silicon, 0.5 sec, Rear terminals, with Return to Zero $24.00

2034-202-2 Pointer 1.37" straight Black $10.00
