Run away that is not a sprint

3J means the car was originally blue metallic

Yes HB is for a sprint interior

Don

Don, what is this car worth as it is? saying its a regular fastback with 302?

No clue on worth

It would take someone who likes that custom look to buy it.

Also condition will determine the price.

Well, out of curiosity I went and saw car, it's in a good condition but something was fishy about it, first the vin number on dash is missing and the owner assured me it's a sprint and I told him according to the door plate it's not, second the car came from Mexico 10 years ago so I don't know if it was stolen here or there, is there any other way to confirm vin other than door plate or fender?

I offered him low number and he said get out of my property lool

Run away - not a sprint.

Looks like a decent looking car. Strange modded door panels.

Modded to look like a Sprint. If you want a Sprint - stay away.

Without the VIN plate on the dash you'd probably have a hard time getting it to pass title inspection, the door plate is too easy to change, or happens when a door is replaced with a used one. I would have asked to see the title, to see if it matches the door plate. Sounds like the guy is a jerk, if you know any police officers you might tell them your concerns.

Part of the VIN is stamped on the inner shock towers under the fender. And on the engine. You'll see year, plant, and consecutive unit number.
Also stamped on trans on top but can't really see with in car. Also you could check the buck tag and see if it still attached to radiator support.

here is Rhode Island, any car over 10 yrs old, doesn't need a title, but you would need the previous registration, now if I try to register a car from out of state, they have to do a VIN check by the police DPT to verify its not stolen only.

So you would hope the seller is honest, and you must do your homework on the car, and not let your emotions buy a car.

Ok, the guy dropped price to $5K since he have to leave the state ASAP. its missing dash vin, what yall think?

I do not think you can get a dash vin plate - at least I couldn't here in Ohio
