My Car
73 rusty convertible
351C fmx is the most common 73 cougar type, so I saw no value in keeping it original. Now has Holley 670, aftermarket cam and pistons, 3.25 limited slip. I painted the tail light holders and part of the front grille. Ginger interior is original. Rear wheels are 16 inch. 20220702_100952.jpg20200602_195659.jpg

It's in my garage now waiting for a new starter. I painted the black along the bottom because I think it makes the car look leaner. Same back window as the Mustang, but I think it looks better on a longer car. 20220702_140307.jpg20220702_135634.jpg

Add a little black pinstripe a 1/4" above the black for a finishing touch. Like the offset pinstripe on a Mach 1 hood blackout paint.

That's cool. It's a small thing that most don't even notice, but can have a huge impact.

My old 71 XR-7 had the lower body blacked out with a pinstripe when I bought it. Alway thought it looked good like that, even though it was just a way to hide the rust....

My first car was the 73 my father bought new. Black stripe was his idea. I was driving it by 1980, in this picture. Passenger side door was replaced by this time, as I was learning about braking hard in the rain. Living in Toronto, a car could only last 10 years or so. FB_IMG_1657028213391.jpg
