Yes, give it more depth and will make chrome trim, surrounding whole grill, stand out more - like it did in prior years.Recessed looks good! It gives more depth to the grill opening.
I used bar that was .625 thick, but will remake top spacers out of .5" bar instead.Thank you
I end up using Krulon Fusion paint after sanding with 320 grit. Great for hard to stick plastics (and I already had it since last project)That looks really nice! I like the recessed look as well!
In my experience, the plastic you used for the spacers, Delrin, doesn't hold paint very well. If you found a paint that sticks to it, please let me know.
Now they state on the can no peal guarantee.Great! I'm always skeptical of the "sticks to plastics" claim. My old go-to was to sand the plastic, brush it with yellow contact cement let dry, then spray paint. It wasn't a really smooth finish, but it stuck! It looks like I need to re-evaluate the Fusion spray paint.
