Advice on wheel/tire package (yet another thread!)

I know there are a lot of threads related to this issue, but I guess everyone has a bit of different needs. That said here is what I would "ideally" like, which I can't find . So I am seeking advice on what other options should I look into. Then, once I find something the fun part of proper backspacing starts.

Ideally I would like to keep tire diameter in the ~26s, run 245s on front and 295s on rear. I have been looking at 17" Magnum-like-styled wheels. The front is not much of an issue but I am not finding much for the rear. A 295 or even a 305 puts me on the 17x11 wheel size range, which I can't find standard. I can see them custom but the price is through the roof. Maybe I should consider 18" and/or settled with 275s. I like the Magnum styled wheels but I could be open to other ideas, but it makes me a bit nervous spending all this money and then not liking how they look on the car.

I am all ears and if you have a similar setup please post pictures.

There's not a lot of choices in the 295/17 tires with a 26" diameter. The recommended rim width range for most of them is 9.5" to 11", so a 10 inch rim width should be good.

An alternative would be 285/40/17, 26" diameter, less than a half inch narrower, can be installed on 10" width rims, and more available.

I could get the 26.1" 295/35/18. However, I don't know if I like the idea of wheels of different diameters.

The more important issue is that I am not finding alloy Magnums sizes 17x10 or 18x10. It seems that they stop at 17x9.

I have these, not a true Magnum but a modern take on them. 245/45/18, 18x8 front, 285/40/18, 18x9 rear, 5.25 back spacing on rear. Rear tires are 27” tall. No tire clearance issues. Ryan

I like those but I would like them in 17x10. There are a very few options in 17x10 or even 17x9.5.

This is the only thing I can find that is close in design, 17x9.5 and at decent price. I can get custom made but it ends up being $500+ a pop.

So the backspacing on these is 5.05" which may be too little and the tire may stick out too much

With a 9.5" wheel I think I need a 5.5" backspacing or +6 mm offset.

I saw your earlier post and I really like those wheels. Where did you buy them? I can't seem to find them online. Do you know the backspacing? I hope they have them on 17s, but since they have many spokes, the 18s may not look that bad.

I believe the BS is 5.25. Here is a link and they do have them for 17's. I was trying to get as close to 28" tall as possible without going super wide or too much side wall. I kind of like the bigger wheel lower profile tire on these big cars. Although the traditional 295's on the 15's are classics.

I like the look as long as it's the deep dish. Is that 550 for all 4? That's a good price.
