So I am going to rewire my 71‘s wiring nightmare with the full AAW kit..
If you did it, how long did it take?
Did you pull the dash? How much of the dash?

Any tips or nightmares or gotchas to share?

If you don't remove the dash be sure you have plenty of BandAids on hand.

If I were you I would either get a refurbished set from Midlife or have him refurbish yours. Everything will be right and will be plug 'n play.

A few owners ago, My car was in a fire 30 years ago and a 71& 73 harness were hacked together to get basic lights and ignition circuit. It was too far gone to mess with, so I bought the AAW kit. The kit seems solid, but a lot of effort. I am good with solder, heatshrink, crimping, and the car is a running shell so it should be fairly easy to install. I plan on pulling the dash..now I gotta read the shop manuals and assembly books to figure that out…😀

I used auto wire harness and was very happy with quality and instructions. It is time consuming but end result is great. Do not be in a hurry. Take the dash out. It’s really not difficult. Get a good crimping tool.

How long did it take to actually install it? Days? Weeks?
and yeah, I bought the AAW crimp tool set. Did not skimp…

I will say the biggest pain is the crimping. And you have to do it for every kit Except a restored factory harness.

I will try to show some pix of what I did to help easier maintenance in the future.
