its a set of Convertible rear seats, that are in Illinois area, that I'm interested in.

I'm coming up with UPS prices of about $400+ just shipping to Rhode Island.

I had the best luck with Uship. Google it. Excellent rate - great service. Delivered as promised.

I will definitely use them again.

Shipped a block and misc engine parts from Neb to Ok for just under $300. It was already crated but about 450 lbs!

The Cleveland long block I bought from Don of OMS

cost $310 to ship 2500 miles door to door.

Try www.freightquote.com, I was very pleased with

the level of service. You tell them what want to do and

they give you several choices of shipping companies

that can do that for you.

I find Fed Ex ground to be more reasonable than UPS or the USPS, but greyhound is probably the cheapest route. Watch your box size, it may be cheaper to use two boxes as the carriers tend to work on "dimensional weight"
+1 FedEx seem to handle freight more carefully than UPS

I have seen a few scary stories on another forum I participate in with some Greyhound shipments gone awry. Otherwise they do seem cheapest for large items. My personal experiences have been with UPS and FedEx ground, right now my preferred is FedEx ground due to price and service.

I like uship.com

It's like an eBay auction for shipping services and you are in complete control.

Plus 1 with Jeff on "dim wt"

There is no way it would cost 400 to ship the rear seats

Iyman are you looking for a core seat or something with blue upholestry on it ?

You give them some info about your package

and they send you a list of companies that

will do that. The driver on my end had to

put the engine on a pallet jack and drag it the

last 100 yards up the street because his truck

would not clear the power lines. I paid for

door to door service and that is what I got.

That company was also the cheapest bidder.

As I recall, there where 7 companies that

placed a bid.
