I was sad when i replaced my seat belts with 3pt ones and didnt have a way to connect the new ones so the seat belt warning doodad worked right. It was a fun little feature while i had it.

Anyone else happy when they get their key/headlights on buzzer fixed with a NOS one? 🤩 Hooked my seatbelt buzzer back up whole I was at it.
Didn't know there was a buzzer for the key/headlight... lol. But once in a while the seat belt buzzer light works...

I doubt my seat belt light and buzzer would work because someone took out the pressure pads. I was just wondering if it would be worth putting a capacitor in the auxiliary ignition position to the light. I'm thinkin the light would flash (meaninglessly) for a few seconds but everyone would get the message ?

There are no pressure pads there is a switch built into the seatbelt retractors. And the buzzer and light only go on if you put it in drive without your seat belt pulled out.

I'm with Steve on this one. There's a pressure sensor attached to the bottom of the passenger seat in my cars. I just went out and looked under the seat to double check.

Otherwise how would the car know whether or not to buzz if you didn't have the passenger seatbelt pulled out.

Maybe it changed in 73 as my 72 has a switch in the retractor and my light and buzzer work.
But I do kind of remember seeing a seat bottom with a metal strip. It might have been a cougar behind section also.

The seat sensor is only on the passenger side. Requires sitting in the passenger seat to trigger it or something heavy on the seat. Putting the car in gear (forward or reverse) will activate the seat belt warning system. Shuts off if in park, neutral (at least on manual trans cars).

The key reminder was on all Mustangs. The headlight on reminder was part of the optional convenience group. 11% of 71s, 13% of 72s, and 22% of 73s were equipped with that option. It activated the same buzzer as the key reminder.

Disconnected my buzzer not long after I bought my car. Not only did I dislike the noise, the buzzing sound varied up and down in pitch and sounded like a giant blowfly that was in the process of being slowly eviscerated by a sadistic spider.

Where's the buzzer? I want mine gone.
