C6 shirter linkage adjustment question

My trans can go from park to reverse despite the key being out. Does anyone know where to look to fix this? My shifter is a mess and out for new bushings but if I do have a neutral start switch problem, I assume that I need to get other linkage things adjusted as well.

There is no kickdown, and only a single linkage bolted directly to the neutral start switch. Moving the trans from park to reverse does not appear to make the linkage attached to the neutral start switch move at all.

The shop manual really doen't have any good info that I could find for adjusting the lock, shifter, etc. Any help or thoughts?

Do you have a reverse lockout rod? If it's missing that might be your problem.

It was a very sloppy shifter and out of adjustment neutral safety switch. Put new bushings in the shifter and played with neutral safety switch adjustments til it worked. The shifter is nice and tight with the new bushings

Which bushing kit did u get and from where? The Scott Drake?

I got the bushings from NPD. They were too thick to work as a pair but one new and the better of the two old ones combined did the trick.
