I have this 1973 convertible with a 3 gauge center console. Did a restoration about 20 years ago an at the time the center wood grain was damaged so the shop just pealed it off and painted it black. Just saw this reproduction woodgrain on eBay and wondered if anyone has used this to replace the factory trim.
How well does the woodgrain match side door panels?
How well does the pattern fit the console?
Does it look nice or cheap?
Thanks
Btw. They charge $75 and state no returns.

I haven't decided which way I will go on my car - so I have one set up with woodgrain and a camera case textured one in black. One way to approach it is to match the door panels. Black may look better with standard panels, woodgrained better with deluxe panels.

I was looking for the woodgrain material a while back and came across the same precut piece you refer to. There is a post on here by EBSTANG about this...don't recall the details on his post. The precut was $75 + $17 to ship. At the time, the entire 3-gauge bezel sold for around $200. I concluded that the entire part was worth the trouble of restoring and then applying the precut woodgrain piece.

@Scubaman I've been looking for the woodgrain vinyl film and not coming up with anything (so far). What I have found is either out of stock, discontinued, or very high priced....enough material to do door panel inserts and center bezel was nearly $250!

Wondering if you've made any progress?

I just went to NPD and ordered a repro bezel. It was expensive at $279 but it matches the woodgrain in the door panels perfectly. Good luck

I'm looking for some to do the door panel inserts. What was the brand and color you found to match? Seems that many places are out of, or no longer make, the colors identified in the past.

I did door panels & inserts from NPD. No one did wood grain center bezel at the time do we stripped off old wood grain& painted black. Never looked right. Now NPD does door panels and center bezel. Matches nicely.
