Will the D0ZB-166710-B hood twist locks work with our cars on a NASA hood? Or do I need the D1ZZ-16896 part??

I have found a guy in the DFW area with a very reasonable price for two Twist locks, two NOS latches, two NOS catches, 1971-73 NOS support brace, retainers and and bolts. The twist locks are still packaged with a 70 part number. I can see allot of vendors that have the latches, catches and support braces across several years models but the D0ZB part number doesn't span the same years. Any help is appreciated.

IIRC, the difference is in length of the catch "rod", not the twist lock itself. The catch plates (16894) are all the same, as are the twist locks. You should be able to modify it to work on a 71-73.

Hey @PoFoMoCo given that you bought them (no fear of being sniped), would you mind sharing what you paid? I feel like we all could benefit from knowing the fair market value of these goodies.

Also, for me, I've never seen these as NOS. I had no idea that the mounting bracket were yellow-tinged (yellow dichro??). Thanks for posting.

KNN,

Absolutely, no worries. I ran the numbers for various reproduction parts suppliers and the same parts would be around $350 - $375 (includes shipping). I ran the numbers for complete kits from certain vendors and also piecing it together individually. My parts were from an individual on Fbook MP. The original price was $350, we negotiated and I paid $295.

Aside from the great parts, I had a chance to visit with a great mustang guy and made a new friend/contact in the North Texas area. Also I had a chance to see a couple of his cars. He was gracious enough to let me take some pictures. His main garage had a 2022 Mustang GT350 and these beauties....
