Added the primer today, looks terrible but a good primer for bare metal!  Had my little helper helping with prepering it for primer today and so was my dad too, love spending time that way !!

While the primer dried in the enginebay I spend the rest of the day blasting and sanding the doors to bare metal, I like to start from scratch. Look how beautiful those original doors are, so nice a condition they are in, I really like that

They are really a pair of good doors, it makes me happy to see metal that old in such a nice condition!  

Hahaha, yeah you are right, why not make it easy for my self  lollerz  No I just wanted to learn him how things works and how to make things, it’s nice that he like to help with it and I at the same time can give somthing from me to him  He actually helped with spraying some of the primer in the enginebay too

A little progress again today  Got the holes for the locks in the doors welded up today because I want keyless entress. Also got the doors in that ugly primer too. I wont do anymore to the doors for now, the next will be to make every gap between the door, fenders and body to line up perfectly with a 0,5mm gap every where. So next project are the front fenders and strip them down to bare metal.. Yeeeah buddy!

Began on the front fenders today. Every hole for emblem, trim for wheel opening and marker lamp are closed to get the clean look I want.. I also got the doorhinges blasted and restored with new pins and bushings

A little progress today also, not much, but better than nothing  Spend some time on the hinges and grinded/sanded all the edges to make them smooth and take away all the fails from when they were produced, looks much better now and got primer on them too

I got luck with my doors and fenders as well although perhaps not as spot on as yours

a bit... ahahaha. Shipping for a hood (300 something) to my door was 1800 via jeggs, add 21% on the 2100 for import tax. The doors are bit smaller but as a pair they also weight more.

Short story: I'll be welding and fighting rust once more as my 71 are crunchy on the front side and underneath. Not sure how bad yet.

For sandblasting, I'm looking around for a portable low pressure and small solution, I see you have a cabinet, what kind of media do you use and what is the air pressure required for this cabinet? What would be the max size of a part you could handle in there?

haha yeah, if you had to get them shipped to Europe too it will be a hole lot more expensive! Damn that ended up being a really expensive hood, that’s the sad part of it when ordering parts for our Mustangs, we cant just pay the price for the parts and say that’s it, then comes shipping, taxes and so, I HATE IT!!  

As for media, I’m just using sand to keep the costs down and it works perfectly! I cant remember how much pressure we use in the cabinet, but I think it’s everything from 3-8 BAR, but dont hang me up on that! I actually think for some years ago that I had a 17” wheel in it. We do actually also have a extern sandblasting unit we use for bigger parts, like the enginebay and doors which I just had blastet with that, you can see it in the picture, it’s the red unit in the background, it’s a great solution for what we need it for  For that one, it works best with 5-8 BAR of pressure.

Sprayed some epoxy primer in the enginebay today, what a difference that everything are in one color, looks so much better!  I think next step is to get some epoxy layed down inside the car to brighten everything up a little!

no and that’s because it wont upload it and I cant delete my post..  thanks a lot, it is much more straight now and will get even more clean when done with filler and so. I have put a lot of work into that enginebay
