Dash removal

Hello,

Have a 73 Mustang and need to remove the instrumetn cluster so I can get to the convertible top switch and emergency bracke hazard light. They are far left at bottom of dash in the solid metal area. No acces from below ... I have taken out all the screws that hold the plastic gauge surrong out but can not get it past the steering column ... freed up. Any suggestions ? Thanks

Loosen up the bracket on the column a little bit and the cluster will slide out. In my experience, you to not have to remove the column just drop it slightly.

You can pull the dash pad first and slide out with column in place. I usually access both of those items from below.

Did you remove the two parts of the steering column covers
