I’m putting a new weatherstrip kit on my Mustang, and when I got to the door pieces I got a little stumped. Looks like my car has been running for many years without a good door seal…my old one is just plain gone. How do I attach this weatherstrip around the door? Glue? Or wedge it between the door panels and the door? The other end has a tail, and I can see a screw hole in the door, so I’m assuming that’s where it ends, but what holds the main part of this weatherstrip to the door?

I’m guessing the other end goes to these two holes? I might have to trim the weatherstrip a bit as it is a little too long if I use these holes. Does anyone have a picture of the inside of their door jamb?

I used the same 3M adhesive that Kilgon used and it worked well. But man is it messy, to me, it's seems too thin. Also, my weatherstripping was a couple inches too long as well. After adding the adhesive, I used painter's tape to hold it in place and since the end did not line up with factory drilled holes at the front of the door, I drilled new holes. No one will know but me and it saved me from having to cut the new weatherstripping. Good luck.

The door weather-strip is soft and stretch's easily, depending on the brand you have, some will stretch more than others.
Daniel carpenter brand is soft
Fairchild brand is too hard [ or use to be when I checked into carrying it a couple of years ago]
But with either one, screw both end into place
Start gluing in the bottom of the door [ middle of the w-strip] You can do a dry fit using blue painter tape first.
Work any excess out both ways, it should be the correct length.
If for some reason, it's too long cut and splice it in the bottom center of the door.
The ends need to be in the correct location to mate with the pillar post weather stripping end.
It's been a while, so maybe it changed but the 3m adhesive was ... apply it on both surfaces, let it set up a bit and then it
is like contact cement.
