Started the upper build on the 302 engine where we have chosen a red, black and chrome concept.   Attached are the photos.

Now we've run into a question regarding rockers and pushrods.  This is what we have

Holley Street Avenger 570 CFM

Edelbrock Performer Manifold

Edelbrock E-Street Cylinder Heads

Valve Springs for Hydraulic Flat Tappet

      Port Volume: 170cc/60cc

      Valve Size: 1.90"/1.60"

      60cc Combustion Chambers

      3/8" Rocker Stud

      Max Lift - .550"

Edelbrock Performer Plus Camshaft

      Lift: .448''/.472''

      Duration @ .050: 204°/214°

      Advertised Duration: 270°/280°

      Idle-5500 RPM Range

Edelbrock Victor Alluminum Water Pump

Edelbrock Performer Link Timing Chain

My question is what type of rockers and shafts should we use to complete the upper build?  We are looking at the Edelbrock Red Roller Rocker  ( 3/8", 1.6 to 1 Ratio ) and  pushrods ( Length: 6.805" Dia- 5/16 ).

Will these work?

thank you...

Not my area of expertise, but I think your camshaft mfg should have that spelled out for you.  I mean if you go to Summit racing they will tell you EXACTLY what you need to match your setup.

Where did you get the cam.  In my opinion if you call Summit racing and ask the questions  above, I think you  will have an awesome result.

I don't know anything about Edelbrock rocker arms so, I have no input on that. Given the new non-stock parts, you will need to check valve train geometry to determine proper pushrod length. Use checking springs so the checking pushrod is not damaged. https://www.hotrod.com/articles/how-to-measure-for-correct-length-pushrods/  Chuck

Minimum wall thickness on the 5/16" hardened pushrods is .080. For true custom length (+ or - .002) pushrods contact Smith Brothers, Manton, or Trend. Chuck

That'll be a pretty engine when it's done.

Not sure what makes Edelbrock's rockers worth $200~$300 more than those from other USA companies, but whatever. IMO, a set of Scorpion or Crane would be hard to beat.

I really hate that Edlebrock charges a premium for ancient tech. That cam has been around since the early 70's, the intake isn't much newer and the heads are not recommended to be used with roller cams,.....
