Yes , done all that. I have to brag about my first engine stand. I have a few, but the first one I bought when I worked at an independant Auto Parts store. I bought it from our tool supplier, California Tool. It's a heavy duty Diesel engine stand. You can build an engine and run it easily on this stand. It has 4 wheels so it won't tip, and has a flange to bolt on a support to the front of the engine, as well as a friction brake at the front. It was made in the USA with quality steel and SAE thread hardware. It's big, and unbolts into components to better store. The other two I have are crappy made in china auto parts store stands with ****** hardware, but that's what they all seem to sell, or maybe the public won't pay more for a good one to use once or twice.
 
Transmission jack to make a third member installer.
