FMX slipping when turning left corners

My FMX (with 250,000 miles) is slow to drop into gear when I start the car in the morning. It seems better when it warms up. Recently is shifts into 2nd gear but seems to slip a bit then too. It used to get rubber when shifting to 2nd. Also when turning left it frequently slips. I have noticed an intermiottent screeching sound coming from under the car at speeds. Wondering if it is the transmission failing or if it is a wheel bearing or another bearing somewhere. Any suggestions appreciated.

Is the fluid level ok?

i would agree with fluid level check first. Smell the fluid if it smells burnt you may have more work ahead with the clutch material being burnt.

Fluid level, possibly a plugged filter. Most likely it's time for a rebuild.
