This was posted over on the VMF, I just *had* to share....

It's even worse at other angles...

The fabricator says he used it as a teaching tool, to show people how to do specific tasks.

The car and the story remind me of yngwie malmsteen. One of, if not the, most technically gifted guitarists to ever live. He pretty much invented shredding. Unfortunately for him, he lacked some of the other requirements to make it over the hump.

This car is the same. No doubt it took lots of time and skill to build it. I can appreciate it for that, but it sure is ugly. I dont think you could even give that thing away. :D

I watched the whole video, every time they showed a different shot of that car I threw up a little in the back of my mouth, LOL

Although, learning what not to do can be just as important as learning what you should do.

Wow, I think you guys are being overly critical of the first attempt I have seen on these cars to go aftermarket with body mods. I have to admit I have been on the internet searching for alternate body moulding options for my 73 vert more than once. I have seen a couple of wheel flares but not much of anything else. I would have liked some more options for the front end, lower fenders, hood.and even side vents but instead we are stuck with front and rear spoilers. That’s a shitty list of aftermarket options for personalizing your project. I am certainly not in love with the end result of the project but the potential in someone showing these cars some love rather than treating them like the ugly step-child has earned my respect. If it was toned down to half of the exaggerated flairing I think he could be on to something. These bodies are already very wide so any mod adding girth should be very limited in my opinion but I really do appreciate the attention.

Sorry but have you seen the 71 Mustang Chip did? My opinion it was fugly
No I've not seen that one, but actually, I just picked "Chip Foose" as he's a familiar name in the business who does custom work and the first one I thought of.

Actually, I agree with you, The whole idea was for teaching skills, not to create a piece of art.
As I have personally done some body fabrication courses and had some tools, English wheel etc. I do appreciate what is behind the idea. He just happened to have a Mustang he could use. It could easily have been a Camaro!
I get what he was trying to achieve, but the result is awful!

The styling reminds me of something Ian Rousselle might do. This guy has some pretty nice equipment at his disposal. Not my taste, but to each his own. Has it been LS swapped?

Why would someone, who obviously is very skilled, admit to building that THING for any reason? He should send it across the scales and never speak of it again. Chuck
