- 1973 Mustang Grande, Full Console
After raising two boys, working then retiring, getting re-married, etc. etc...It sure feels good to be a proud Mustang Owner once again...My first car was a 65 Coupe purchased in 1976 at my wise ole age of 16. 289 w/3 in the floor. In 79 I added another Pony car, a 1971 Mach I Canary Yellow/Matte Black, 351C 2Bll (see attached pics shortly after purchase). This past April, a buddy directed me to a small Classic Car Dealer in Weatherford TX to take a look at his cars. The next day I came home with my 1973 Grande...$4,500.00...I couldn't pass it up. The dealer picked it in Mississippi, claims it to be a 1 owner & the car sat in a shed for the past 9 years, When made, it had Automatic w/6cylinder also Canary Yellow....Anyhoo, the owner sometime down the line installed a 1969 460, C-6 Tranny & 9" Rear. Drivetrain wise, the fellow knew what the heck he was doing. Everything under the car was replaced & beefed up to handle the Big Block, he even added a rear swaybar...Everything under the car is almost new with 9 year old dust & grit an inch thick. Anyway, Its my project now along with my 68 Coupe I purchased in March 2021...The interior is really remarkable...Not one crack in the dash or the full console...Edelbrock intake & carb, Milodon Oilpan, & other good stuff I've yet to discover. Little bit of work, for sure but every bit worth it!
