Heater Control Cable Lock Nut???

Hello, does anybody know of a modern substitute for the lock nuts/caps that go on the two heater control cables to help prevent the cables from slipping off? I've had attached a photo for reference and circled the area I am referring to.

On my a/c car, the blend-door cable did not have any kind of lock-nut on that end. The cable end had several loops wound into it and it simply slips over the peg on the control lever. It has never accidentally come off.

and if he doesn't carry them, you might find something at your local hardware store that would work.
