My Ram Air hood comes down too easily while the motor is off, and guaranteed it will come down while running.

I have the correct flat springs installed.

So---Which is more commonly the real culprit for a hood that falls quickly?

1. Springs? How does one tell?

2. Hinges?  How does one tell?

Thank you.

Tim

Usually Springs. They are extended when the hood is down causing them to go weak over time. I think David had posted on here not long ago about someone who had two of the rings welded together on the bottom side tying them together thus increasing the spring rate and being on the bottom not easily noticeable.
