How-To Post a Thread, add Images and Conversations (PMs)

To post a new thread:
1. Find the forum you wish to post into and click on the title.
2. At the top you'll see a "blank" space. It has lightly colored words "Thread Title" in it.
3. Click in that "blank" space and fill in the title.
4. The message box opens as you are filling in the title.
5. Fill in the message box.
6. When done look to lower right for the POST THREAD button. Click on that.
7. You have now started a thread and others can read and reply to it.

Replying to a post:

+Quote = this will be what you want to click on when going down what you are reading and you want more than one quote in your reply. This works between threads also. Once you reply, there will be an insert quote button on the bottom left.



If you click on that you will see all your quoted posts at once:



You can click on "Quote Messages" and all will appear in your reply. (the above are from two different threads)

Then once in the reply you can add comments between them. When done look to the lower right for the Post Reply button and click it.

Regular Reply on the right side of a post will make it show up as a quote in your reply.

Going to the end of the thread you will have the quick reply and that is where you can post without any quotes.

ADDING IMAGES AND FILES:

1. Look to the bottom left of the message box and find the Attach Files button.


Click on that and you'll be taken to your storage of images. Most often called gallery. Choose your image (one at a time)
And then upload.



You will see the insert on the left and trash/delete on the right. Click on insert, but have your cursor where you want the image.
The insert will open to Thumbnail or Full. Choose Full.




SECOND WAY TO INSERT AN IMAGE.

RIGHT CLICK AN IMAGE, AND THEN RIGHT CLICK PASTE IT INTO THE MESSAGE/POST





THIRD WAY TO ADD IMAGE:

From the message edit bar at the top choose this icon:



It will open to this box:



You can upload an image there, or use the link tab



And put in a link to the image.


So that's the three ways to add a file/image.

NOW FOR PMs which this software calls a CONVERSATION



The envelope is your IN box and when you have a new message you will see a small number there.
To send a new conversation click on that and will have Show All or Start A Conversation:



Click on the Start a Conversation:

And this is what you'll see:



Once that is done look on the bottom for the Start Conversation button.



ALSO:
You can click on someone's avatar and get a box that has Start Conversation on it:



if you click there, the TO: will already be filled in when you get the Conversation box.

Fill in the member/s member name on the Recipients: Then a title and the message.

DELETING A CONVERSATION/PM.

You don't. They call it LEAVE.



When you do that, you have the option of it opening if someone replies, or not seeing it again.



If you use that 2nd (Ignore) function you will NOT get any replies.

Once all parties of a Conversation/PM have Left the message is actually deleted.

ADDING A SHORT VIDEO (51,200kb)

Do the same steps as adding an image, but use the UPLOAD VIDEO button on the lower left. Go pick one, upload, then insert,
I didn't have a car video so you'll just have to check out this short one that shows a video can work.

To add a YOU TUBE;

Just get the address from the YouTube and paste into the message box.


Here is a shot of how it looks when you are pasting the link into a message.

Just go to the top right and where you see UNWATCH, click on that.

@RocketFoot , I saw all my posts images are now displayed in thumbnails.
If I edit size and set 100%, I get the thumbnail being blowed up, even more ugly.

So what's the proper way to proceed during edits to display at 100% and using the source?
I saw today some posts are displayed 100% with the src img, so there is obviously a way to do this.
Also would it be possible to run a php script to automate the changes? I have on my thread tons of images that are now altered and would hate to go thru 32 x 19 entries with some having up to 6 images and edit by hand each url and size...

All my picts are photoshoped and inserted in text in an attempt to make this long story bearable
And aside the size issue, the popup/slideshow kinda ruins that too.
I wanted update but postponed till I know what the api expects.
Previous forum software was buggy in css with a stupid inline size and a data.scale that did not accept images witha height bigger than the parent element.
On this version you can set img size to 100% but the source url is replaced by a smaller version... while the template php should unless a user defined custom size is defined, set parent.class.IMG to 100% and IMG src to the original url...

I saw the same in my thread, but only from HALFWAY page 7 till 9, all the photo's were downsized a LOT. Before p7 the pics are as posted and everything I posted after the upgrade is normal as well. Link: https://7173mustangs.com/threads/sl...amsterfoose-current-subject-cowl.32693/page-7

Seems every picture I try to load now say "image to large" never had this issue before.
