Good day to all, thanks for Taking time to read this.
Could I get an outline (order) on the process to install the dash to a 1973 Mach? It arrived with no dash. Wire loom on floor, no peddles, steering column or dash. I don't have experience with this year Mustang. As far as I can tell most all parts are here. Routing of wire loom would be a great help. As you already know routing of wires can't be seen when dash is finished, as I learned yesterday viewing a 72.
Interior vacuum line routing would be of great help also. Thanks everyone

Dash insulation -> pedal support assembly -> HVAC system -> assembled dash -> steering column -> dash upper pad and side finish panels.

Separate the dash harness at the glove box and wire the dash before installation. That's how Ford did it on the assembly line.

I highly recommend a set of the assembly manuals for the car. Certain sections are only available for 71-72, but they are similar enough that it won't matter for assembly.

The factory Ford shop manuals have exploded diagrams and vacuum diagrams for the AC system, as well as function charts etc.

The Ford Master Parts Catalog has extensive exploded views of all areas of the car. It's less convenient to use than the assembly manuals, but it's a free download.

Hemi Keller thanks for the info, I did order the manual along with wiring and Vacum books
I didn't understand the term Separate the dash harness at the glove box and wire the dash before installation. With this installation of wiring I'll need to hang the dash?

I installed the harness into the dash on a table and then installed the dash as a unit. I don't know if that's the right way because I do not have any Mustang experience before this restoration I am in the middle of, but it worked well for me.

Agree with others. Obtain a wiring diagram via the sources referenced. Assemble the dash out of the car and then install in the car. It is easier with the windshield out, but not impossible with it in.

The dash harness and the engine bay harness are connected at the fuse box. The connection is held together by the center bolt. Assembling the dash on the bench allows you to be able to see what you're doing when routing the harness, assembling parts, etc. This is the method that the factory used when building cars on the line, the dash assembly came completely loaded to the line and only required minimal installation time. It might require two people to install, but it saves you from lots of contorting.

I had a small rolling cart that I bolted mine to while working on it. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pics.
